So I decided to run 12S in the big pig! Due to the fact that is is bigger than my MD500E with a bigger rotating rotor and will weigh more.

Barry are you running 12S? What motor, ESC and pinion?

Thanks Barry. Do you have an idea what the head speed will be? And is the Jive80HV enough for this setup? I am not able to figure this stuff out, as my memory is limited, I can't remember things anymore.

So I guess all my esc's are overkill, I'm running 6s on all of my 600ish machines and they all run cc 100 amp esc's besides the 520n which has a 120. Are they more efficient when ran as 12 s set ups?Joel

I am running a 600 12s system that draws not much more than 25 amps in normal flight and has peaked at not much more than 50 to 60 amps during maneuvers. I run a CC Ice2 HV 80A ESC with a separate battery/BEC system and a stock Align 530kv motor turning the rotor at 1600 rpm (was 1650). It's a very efficient system that draws 1400mAH for a full 6 minutes in the air, not including spool-up. Flys my AS350 very well with a three blade head. Take care.

I try to run the highest voltage that the gearing and motor choice will allow. You are ony limited by the choice of gears. I like to play with the head speed, KV, gearing and voltage to find the sweet spot that gives me the best flight times. You will be surprised at how your flight times will improve when you slow the head speed down and get the combo right. It's a game of experimentation...

Will I sold and traded my Logo 400 for a Trex 700E w/ CC 120HV V2, 610 cyclic and Savox 1257TG tail servos. I didn't get the motor that was in it, a 500KV motor. I am looking at the Scorpion 330KV like you said Barry. I am getting so excited, the tent is up! Hehehe

Just in the process of altering pinions etc on my 700, 10 tooth with standard motor, headspeed 1500, flight time is now 11 mins with 25% left in 5000 mah lipos, so i reckon i can get another min out of it which means i can have 2 6 min flights per charge, i'm happy with that.
I could replace the motor for a lower kv and then get say 14 mins at 1200 headspeed, we shall see

Ok, so now I have a predicament. I was planning on using the Skyhunter fuse, bits not an Astar. I need an Astar that has the smaller doors and a left sliding door. I have tried to find 1 but no luck. Does anyone have a clue where I can get 1 in a 700 size fuse?

So is it possible to cut the left door down and make a sliding door for the SkyHunter fuse?

It's too bad you're looking for a 700 size as the 600 size Century would make that helicopter variation up in a snap, but with non-operational rear doors, sigh. I'm not too sure how many more manufacturers make 700 size AS350's. Take care.

I guess I'll have to make the left doors myself. That ought to be fun....

I want to do a 700 size so I can get more detail and hopefully a full cockpit. Including gurney!

Found it. Vario model 9002. It has the pilot side long door and short rear and the co-pilot short door and rear slider. Looks like it is a nice 700 size with a 1.68m rotor span. Same length overall as the Skyhunter fuse. Go gett'r done.
