I'm building my vibe 50 and now stuck on the following step:

page 30 (step 3-1) when inserting the main shaft down into the second hole, it actually doesn't align itself with the main drive assembly so I can't put it through the second hole, it doesn't slide smoothly (it jerks) so its hard to center it, any advice?

If you are talking about putting it into the bearing blocks, just loosen the blocks from the frame, insert the shaft and re-tighten the blocks. Then check to see if it slides in and out easier.
Have never had that heli, so I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about.

Yes its the second bearing block, the trick is to align everything together while the shaft inside for the screw to go tru.

Likewise I don't have that particular helicopter but if there is any degree of misalignment in the main shaft bearing blocks, they will bind on the main shaft. As wrongler stated, just loosen the bearing blocks and re-tighten with the main shaft in place and it will probably no longer bind.

Is the frame square and true? Loosen all the screws on the frame and set it on glass or granite and make sure it is square and then tighten the screws and try the shaft again.

Some pictures might help.

Doing what wrongler described with the shaft in the bearing blocks helps as well. If the blocks are plastic there is also a chance that the molding is off to one side due to uneven curing. Often times turning one 180 degrees will help them line up.

Hope this helps some.

If you are trying to install with the main gear and pinion installed, make sure the pinion isn't too far back, preventing alignment.

Also, make sure the bearing is fully seated in the block.

I got it to snap into position, I had to unscrew the pinion first to give the shaft enough space to slide into place.

Is it okay if I hold on on putting red threadlock on the steps until the unit is completed? I ask because I've had to go back to previous steps and undo threadlock steps. I'd rather do it just once.

locktite
Thin Super glue works also for locking threads
it about equal to red locktite. I have a micro e-flite heli love it.

I've never used red loctite, not even on the engine crankshaft nut. Blue is all I use. I usually crash before the screws unthread.

I noticed when trying to install the main shaft I pressed down too hard and i cracked the white landing gear. I typed 96505 for the part number in heliproz.com and greathobbies.com but they don't sell it? Where can I buy this replacement part? My heli is a JR Vibe 50 NEX

I think the red locktite that comes with the kit is equal to our blue locktite.
