I'm loving this. I'm heading towards my 4th shift in a row at work for Storm Coverage. Sandy is funding my next build.

Sandy is doing nothing for my next build except putting it another 6 months out. All I have been doing for the last three days is getting ready for this monstrosity I don't care about the rain, it's the wind.

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

Poured all night... getting harder... gusts are picking up. This is bad.... the ground is soaked and getting more soaked and the real winds aren't here yet. The biggest problem from this storm will definitely be fallen trees.

Hootowl, speaking of trees...........wasn't that your video of the
shed/garage being delivered on that 'forest trail' of a driveway
going back to your house?

Good luck, man!!

Yea we have lots of trees. I took many out over the years. I have a full size backhoe and chain saws so I'm not worried about the driveway getting blocked.

You can only do so much to prepare.

Got about 40 gallons of gas plus what's in my wifes vehicle... mine is diesel.

Got a 10,000 w generator that hooks up to the whole house so even if power goes out we will be fully functional.

Lent out a Yammy 2000 to my favorite tree guy.

Have a spare Yammy 2000 for my moms place if her sump needs power.

Sold another gen early on Sat morning.

Got a gas powered pump in case my investment property takes on major basement water.

Wood is all staged. We have both fireplaces burning down low. Nice and comfortable.

Told wifey I'll kick up the fires and we can do the storm naked!

Pretty crazy to see such widspread high windspeeds. Check out http://www.windmapper.com for current windspeeds. Weird thing is, the whole west coast over here is dead nutz calm.

It is really sad when the political idiots have to use some thing as bad as a major storm to push their political agenda, get a life.

Good luck to everyone on the east coast. The pictures I have seen so far from others that live there is not looking good.

Lost the first tree about 2 hours ago--- it landed on power and cable wires and I was able to cut it apart and off the wires, wasn't going to wait for National Grid to show up. The video doesn't do the wind justice-- it was a lull but the wind is picking up as I type this-- serious storm in the Northeast.

Fox News is reporting this one to be the single largest storm to hit the Northeast in recorded history.

Buckle down the hatches people.

Stay safe and keep us posted.
