Been flyin the crap out of 2 600Ns this year. Both of them eat clutch bearings quick, like every 4-5 gals.

So is there some thing I am missing?

Does anyone make a better clutch assembly bearing bracket?
That can still be bought?
What kind of time are you guys getting out of a clutch bearing set?

RIP ROMAN

Use the aluminum housing if you currently have the plastic housing.

Use a steel washer between the aluminum nut and the bearing to eliminate the bearing from wearing a groove in the nut. A 10mm main shaft shim works well. This is the most significant "upgrade" I have found for this issue.

Lock-tite the ID of the bearing to the pinion.

Usa a high quality 6800zz bearing.

Make sure you re-line the clutch with a target of .020" clearance.

When I had my 600's. I designed and made double bearing blocks like the 700n uses that eliminated this problem.

Don't buy the Align aluminum housing. It is grossly mis-sized and will eat your bearings. About the only thing that you can do is oil the bearings before or after each day of flying. Also put a small amount of blue loctite on the pinion gear to keep the race from spinning as above. It is a shame that there is no non-split aftermarket block.

The clutch gap on one each side should be .010~.012". Or a diameter difference of .020~.024" or so.
