Can anyone offer any advice on a better alternative to the stock plastic tail blades on a trex 450 pro. The stock blades don't seem to hold very well.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks.

Stock tail blades on the 450 Pro are awesome! If your tails not holding its not the tail blades. Whats your headspeed? The Pro needs to be run above 3400 to get the best tail authority.

Will check the headspeed. I have the throttle curve set 100 90 100 so don't know if it will go any higher. Im using a dx8. Think the travel goes to 125 so will try raising that to see if I can get it going any higher.

It will go a bit higher at 100 flat but which version of the Pro have you got i.e. which motor, pinion and main gear? Also which gyro?

Its a 450 pro v2 3gx but with a beastx.

œ450MX Brushless motor(3400KV) X1
œRCE-BL35X 35A Brushless ESC X1
œMotor Drive Gear: 15T
œMain Drive Gear: 150T
œAutorotation Tail Drive Gear: 106T
œTail Drive Gear: 25T
œDrive Gear Ratio: 1:10:4.24

Although the curve is set to 100 90 100 the travel limits are only set to 100% either way. Is it worth raising them past 100 or will the speed controller only recognise up to 100%?

It will only recognise 100. Your Head speed should be high enough so I would suspect something else. Rudder end points? Gain? Tail pre comp in the right direction? Tried upping heading lock gain in the beastx?

I've tried many different brands of 450 tail blades and the Aligns are my favorite. One of my clone 450s is developing an extremely sloppy tail assembly (time to rebuild) and they are still holding great with a cheap tail servo.

Check out my night blades in my gallery.

Try the Radix 72mm tail blades. They are as good as it gets.

They are for a 500 did you mean 59mm? They are good but for the price you don't gain any performance.
