Hi
I have a t-rex 250SE with flybar. I am thinking of converting to flybarless.
I have an Align flybarless head only and lots of SE main shafts.
What additional parts do I need to use the Align head???
Can I use my existing swash??
Think I will use a Align 3GX.
Any help will be appreciated.

Which FBL head do you have, the DFC head, or the older FBL version?

I converted my original 250 to FBL last Christmas using this head:

http://www.ronlund.com/rcheli-prod/MIP9013.html

and added a 3GX controller. I used the existing Spektrum AR6110e that I had installed for a receiver, instead of using just a Spektrum satellite, as I already had the 6110e installed.

The head above uses the stock main shaft and the stock feathering shaft, and came complete with everything needed to make it work. That and the 3GX controller, a few days to make the change over, and voila, FBL 250.

you'll need the H25105 blade grips and H25106 250FL Mixing base. I wasn't able to get mine to fly right but that was with the older software on the 3GX. I think with the 3GX V2.1 firmware it might work better. Make sure you set it up so everything is square and mechanically at 0 pitch in DIR mode all the way around on both blades. I really helps to have the 'flybar' head button part# H25107 attachment for this setup. Make sure your cyclic is no more than 8 deg. and I'd start off with 11 deg collective.

I really like the DFC head and swash on my new 250. You can't use the older main shafts thought, DFC is a shorter main shaft.

yep - I have the same head. I did end up moving the ball links in one hole on the servos which helps but they are very close to the servo case then
