Think of it like this: the Jive ESC are fully "submerged" in an epoxy like substance rendering them unrepairable. This is good though. Ecause when they fail, there is no oxygen to get into the other areas so they don't burn like the Castle Cremations . A local pro pilot Al Austria explained it to me and he said they are "fully potted" (at least I think that is what he called it)

This is correct. Another take would be having the circuit board in a mold casing and having heated, liquid plastic poured over the circuit board. Let it dry, pop it out and walaa... Kontronik ESC.

No air + electrical short = no fire.

That's pretty much it. The board is placed in the injection mold, and the plastic is injected around the board.
