Thanks

Is there a connection between Futaba and Hirobo apart from country of origin? I notice on page 26 the helicopter is the SDX.

I had the pleasure of checking out the 14SG at OHB. It is a really nice transmitter, very comfortable in the hands. Switches are spaced nicely too. I really liked the new touch pad and RTN pad.

I have been told that so long as they clear customs they could be on the shelves this Saturday here in the UK.

I have now had my TX for a week or so. The bad news is the alarm sounder is exactly the same as the 8FG. If you were hoping it was going to be louder well it isn't. When a timer counts down however you can set a vibration alert.

It is slightly top heavy and sits better on a neck-strap than the 8FG. It is easier to hold than the 8FG. It is not really an upgrade from an 8FG as there doesn't appear to be anything new programming wise.

It uses a 5 cell pack so has an even smaller power plug stopping from using any other charge lead. But because it is 5 cell it is designed for use with a 2S LiFe pack. The bad news is the life pack has to be as skinny as an AA battery. hobby king do have a LiFe battery that will fit.

The screen is much bigger than the 8FG. I used a screen protector cut down from a Kindle Paperwhite.

On a test I have seen 6 hours of use from the battery so it is very frugal with the Amps.

All of this is only my opinion.

Quote From Steve Kaluf,

"Hi guys,

Unfortunately the delivery of 14SG's into the United States has been delayed due to FCC compliance testing taking longer than anticipated. We now expect to receive our initial shipment in January. We apologize for this delay as we know many of you were hoping to have your new radio during the holidays.

Steve

14SG's arrival date?
OK so the 14SG has passed FCC Certification and the current date is mid Feb. Do you think they will be here this week?

I wonder how many orders will be filled by the first shipment? Tower Hobbies status says mid Feb. so does that mean if one was to order one today they would receive it??? That date should reflect the current wait time for a new order!

Switch labels wearing off of aluminum front panel....
Does anyone know if Futaba has corrected the problem with the front switch labels wearing off from the aluminum panel?

Hobbico says they have notified Futaba of this problem but do not have any updates!

I don't want to have it repaired if the problem hasn't been corrected yet!
