I've been running the recommended 0% nitro 12% oil mix in my .91HGL.

I'm out, but have two cases of CY 30% in the garage.

how many shims should I add to lower the compression? anyone?

if it ain't broke, break it.

I had tried many different shim w/o good success. You will have to use a different cab as well. I used an OS 91 HZ cab. with .2mm shim on a 15% and it ran OK.

thanks for all the suggestions.

but, i gave up on the idea for now. i was hoping to use some of this stuff just sitting in my garage.

but, not worth the hassle, but, mainly for the potential of ruining the engine for going back to 0%. I did have a .91HZ carb i was gonna use, but didn't relish tearing down the heli to put it on.

i just bought methanol for $3/gallon, so it's not like i'm breaking the bank. i'll sell the 30% to some locals still flying nitro.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Who recommends 12% oil in their engine? I'm curious. I've been using 18% to 22% oil for over 20 years.

must be a combo of this specific carb/engine. The loterrle carb is designed for this is all i can surmise--but only so far as Mr. Henseleit has indicated in the 3DNT manual. I've run this mix for 2 cases and it runs great.

if it ain't broke, break it.

This manual says 18% oil. But I've never owned one of those engines or helicopters.
