Cause its finally flowing here

here are some pics of my new, but not so new Bergen turbine.

this heli was originally built in 08' but with some updated electronics, a major overhaul, and a little new paint to set it off( thanks to insane canopy !!!)It flys like new.

I can't even begin to tell ya what a rush it is to fly.... sure beats the pants of my 700.

Yep, Adam's turbine is way cool, looks good and sounds good.

Let me fly it at the BBQ FF in a couple of weekends and I'll see if it can Auto.

It cost 60.00 for a 5 gal mix compared to 2 gal of nitro . I have a Wren 44 in a 700 and a 700 nitro and to me besides the cost of build the turbine is worth it

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

The really funny thing is short of the start up cost its probably less costly to operate on a per hour basses than a nitro or electric.

plus i can get fuel at my local FBO.

Thats pretty cool Adam!
How many hours of flight do you get before you have to have the motor sent in? Is it expensive?

Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

I believe the service interval for the mw54 is around 25 hour mark.

that is if you don't tacco it first

The service interval is 50 hours for industrial use, 70 hours for hobby use. This is for the Wren 54 Heli.

And you CAN do the service yourself, excepting replacing the rear bearing, since you do need to remove the turbine wheel from the shaft. This is a very highly balanced assy. Therefore it is suggested to send it in to Ron Ballard to replace this bearing.

Chris, whether you know it or not you and Maryann were a lot of help on the phone. Yall made it easy to get the right parts and I just wanted to say thanks

Anyway, 70 hours TBO really? seems like a long time.

this engine only had 350min on it when I got it but had been sitting for a while... Do you think that would lessen the TBO time??

When i first got it I talked to Ron at wren. He advised me to replaced all the fuel/propane lines and add a fuel filter for piece of mind. Other than that the engine needed no maintenance.

from what I have flown it it seems to be running like a sewing machine

PS.

any update on when the main shafts for the CDT upgrade will be available again?
