After seeing my quad in action one of my friends asked me if I could make a drop mechanisim to take his fishing line out a few hundred yards....and then drop it.
Sounds like a fun challenge, has anyone done anything like this before.
Aside from the obvious entanglement issues this seems totally doable.

Never thought of using a heli or quad for this before but sounds totally doable. Might even do this myself next year. A simple servo drop rig would be easy to make.

Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

I think it might work well and be fun at the same time.

If he's wanting flying line caster. Just a simple 90deg hook attached to the quad would work. Fly out make a 180deg piro, lure drops off.

Yes that sounds simple enough.
I am headed to Fla next week and am trying to think of a way to get mine down there and maybe snag a tarpon.
