That Srimok is badass!

I don't think you need a bubble-less clunk in the header tank...Don't even need a clunk at all really since the header tank is always full.

Like you say though...No such thing as overkill.

Good move to the header tank. I use the header on all of my nitros with the stock clunks. After a couple of flame out on a low tank at a not so opportune time I went to the header. No flame outs now and they run more consistent through the whole tank.

Mckrackin, Where do you buy your fuel thats a 4 hour drive?

When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

Why do you ask?

Are you seriously gonna tell me a better place?

Hurricane Hobbies in Columbus.

No closer option.

True, thats hard to leave that store without getting something nice and new. I agree though...get a case delivered for a little over $100, good deal.

The biggest problem with Hurricane Hobbies is absolutely nothing for a 90 size heli.

The only thing I go there for now is the micro Blade stuff.

I used to get fuel there but they stopped giving me case prices all the sudden....So screw'm.

$34 a gallon is stupid.
I'd rather give $40 a gallon in Lancaster on my way home from work.

$124 a case for Torco is the way I'll go though.

Yeah no 90 parts at all. Maybe they are feeling the economy and thats why they stopped? who knows, but yeah 6 dollar difference is made up in saving gas to drive up there. Do you have a nice place to fly down there? When I'm up north I fly at Alum Creek. Nice big field but some of the airplane guys don't dig the helis. Down here in Lower Alabama we get to use the Stage fields the Army uses for its flight training, only on the weekends though and only if there is not a broken down full size heli sitting on the ramp.

I fly alone.
I have a 10 acre back yard

If I get really cocky,I have a 21 acre hay field about 1000 yards from my door.

Since you have a 10 acre backyard don't you think it's about time you get an 800?

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

overkill is a good thing
got a bubbleless clunk in the main and a fuel magnet in the header which is almost always full until I land. the tune is consistant till the end.

you may not need it but I wanted peace of mind for what it costs

3M tape is a bad idea alone.
It breaks down with exposure to fuel.
I believe you are running a OS motor, but with a YS, the tank changes shape under preasure.
You can keep the header tank in the same location by using one of the holes for the frame/landing gear mounting block.

As additional security, you can put hot glue, or goop between the header just before you mount standoff.

With the double sided tape alone, you will have more problems when that header breaks loose and is floppong around.

Fly with scheduled ground contact !

Thanks but I have hundreds of flights with the 3M tape with no problems at all.

Even after those hundreds of flights the header tank can't be removed without deforming the main tank.

And if it did happen to fall off(which is highly unlikely)I would just land...Worst case is it comes loose inverted and gets knocked off by the blades...Even though the fuel lines aren't long enough to reach the blades.

I started the above thread so you will understand if I say I don't use fuel magnets any more. Still, there are other that swear by them.

Header tanks for me.

What a tubing mess LOL.. j/k... Here is mine just two lines, no filters... Going on two years this way with new fuel magnet sponge each year. I've never run a filter in between tank and engine but use two in the fuel jug (over 15 yrs). Works to the last drop... Don't ask me how I know lol. I won't be going back to a header if I can help it but have to say the double sided tape is way better then those one screw mounts. Happy flying.
