I would go by what is read on the bottle, different oils/different ratios, but you can go to BH's site and read what he recommends

sorry hirobo fan for my short reply above, got stuff going on,

I have a friend that ran 60:1 for years and he was happy, sorry I don't remember what oil he used,
I like a little more oil, so I run 40:1, I wont recommend a oil, there are many good brands

I'd use somewhere around 32-50:1 depending on your oil.

Start at 32:1, I would not run leaner than 40:1 in a heli.
Remember in idle up we are "pegging the throttle wide open" much of the time.

>>>>AMSOIL SABER PRO 100/1 MIXED @ 50/1<<<<<
I use Amsoil saber professional 100/1 mixed @ 50/1 in ALL of my 2 stroke engines, 28.5 - 501cc.

I have used this oil for the past 12 years. This oil leaves Very Very Few deposites on the piston. The least of any other oil I have tried.

If you are inexperienced at tuning the oil is your friend!!!
I run 32:1 all the time.

The instructions that come with a new BHH engine tell you to mix Pennzoil 100% Marine Synthetic at 32:1 for break in.

I ran Amsoil Saber at about 50:1 for approximately 7gal and had quite a bit of carbon build-up on the piston dome and head cylinder.

I have since changed to Pennzoil fully synthetic marine oil that Dood had posted. I'm running 32:1 now. It only smokes a little during warm up but runs clean once up to running temp.

I can't give any reports on carbon build-up as I have only run 2gal thru with the new oil.

I do feel more comfortable running more oil for protection.

Bel Ray H1R at 32:1 leaves a nice clean cylinder and piston dome, even after gallons of flight.
