Hi guys.
Could anyone share your experience with East coast Vario heli? I am trying to get some info about their Bell 412 turbine to buy and build, but seems like it has been really difficult to get someone on the phone for a couple of days so far. I would appreciate the input as to how their customer support for pre-sale, post sale and parts acquisition during and after build. I'm wondering if it's going to be hard to get parts or help once the sale is all done. Thanks gentlemen.

I live close to the Eastcoast vario shop and I fly with joe at the same field, Joe will be very helpful before and after the sale. If he is not answering the phone it is for good reason or he is having phone problems, just leave a message or send an email.

Joe has been away at the scale masters event on the westcoast.

If you can't be that good, then be good at it !

Service Before and After...
I have been dealing with Joe since about 2003... if anyone knows the Vario product, it is Joe... I think he has the entire catolog printed on the insides of his eyelids!!!!

I made a call to him way back then, and he answered every question I had, and there were a lot, and even a few call backs prior to me getting my first set up.... he is still there with whatever questions I have, and he has never steered me in the wrong direction....
If he is still traveling from the "left coast" I am certain he will be back shortly and will return you call if you leave him a message or email him...
The turbine sized heli's are amazing...

Good Luck, Stan

Thanks for all the replies. Joe called and guided me through a lot of things I was confused about. So, it is now time for sweet talking to the misses and bribe her with candy so she can look else where for a while until order is placed. LOL

Same thing here, Joe has always been there after the sale to assist with his vast knowledge of the vario products as well as building expertise. Just yesterday he guided me through my current BO 105 project questions.

Stan, Its just a shame that more dealers don't share Joe's unselfish way of taking care of us when we need help. He has the nicest way of guiding me down the right path without making me feel so inadequate,or just plain stupid at times. Take care. WP

Over the years I purchased 3 Vario helicopters from East Coast Scale Helicopters. Joe has always been helpful from the beginning, the build if I had any questions, and after I build them if they broke down or I had problems with them.

On my CDF Huey that I took to scale masters I had a tail problem when I was test flying it. I gave him a call, and he sent me FREE parts to try something different. I even offered to pay for the parts and he declined. The tail problem was fixed. I was having overheating issues with that Huey and during the last scale masters he spent allot of time helping me set up the carb and the radio. After a few hours that thing was flying the best it has ever flown.

Take it from a loyal customer, I will only buy high end helicopters from Joe and nobody else. I can't say enough on how much he has help me over the phone, and last week when I met him for the first time at scale masters. He is the best at customer service.

East Coast Joe
If 'truth' were to be defined it would be Joe Howard.
Joe exemplifies gentlemanliness and honesty.
I remember toying with the idea of an Acrobat and trainer? Even though my thoughts were leaning towards an Acrobat, Joe said to me "go for the trainer".
Now tell me this which businessman does that? Of course he's got bills to pay too, so it would have been easy for him to sell me what I want rather than what I need but, he didn't, and that need was carefully chosen and defined by him.
Since then he's become my close friend and mentor and he does not have a choice in that
Please give Joe a round of applause.
All the best!

OK Wayne!!!
I talked to Joe and he has a headache from trying to SQUEEZE it through the door of his shop!!!! (just kidding!!!!)

Not very often you hear good things about someone on line, but I will concure that I agree with each and everyone of you... my experiences started the same way as a lot of yours did, and continue to be just like day one...

Joe not only serves the USA customers but aboard too. I live in Singapore and Joe shipped a Vario turbine Lama to me six years ago. This year, I was in Boston before thanksgiving and decided to drop in to see Joe. It was the first time we met and he was helpful with the many questions I had. Great guy

Thanks for all the posts. This is the first time I deal with Vario brand. So, long story short. Placed and order with Joe after a short wait period, of which seems forever to me. It is in the way here to my door just 3 days before Xmas. Couldn't be better timing. The experience so far is superp and I can't argue with any if the posts here about Joe. Great guy and very helpful. Thanks again.
