Big Bird will not be anyone's political puppet.

Sesame Workshop has asked the Obama campaign to take down a new TV ad that prominently features the famous talking bird, in a satirical spot mocking Mitt Romney for calling for an end to PBS subsidies.

"Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down," Sesame Workshop said in a statement.

An Obama campaign official said it has received the request and "will review their concerns."

Backfire!!!!
Big Bird doesn't want to be associated with a filthy buzzard.
A few weeks ago, GM begged Obama to sell the GM stock because of the backlash they are getting.

bottom line is, a very small portion of their budget is paid for by the government. They'll just have to tighten their belt a bit, like every other person or business in this country. The Bird's gotta go. Romney said it perfectly. If it's not worth borrowing money from China for, then it's gotta get the axe...like 30% of the entire federal government.

Awesome. Blame the network because you arent qualified to parent properly. As a parent you have the ability to lock down channels. DOH!!

So easy a caveman could do it!

How did this thread go downhill? I dont have kids, but pbs has value, you shouldnt need to have cable and machines that block channels. SOmeone said they get 14 million a year. Thats nothing to the federal govt. Its like if teh budget is a glass of water and some of it evaporated over a milionth of a second. Our budget is that distorted.
Someone has you fooled into complaining about obamaphones and pbs, thats not where the budget is going to.

Sit in front of the TV all you want...just don't ask someone else to pay your admission.

Sesame Street has all the commerical value they need to go on any network...they don't need PBS.

Of the 283 channels on TV, the government is putting tax dollars into one.

And besides Sesame Street has already told Obama to buzz off. They are trying to get away from the Obama stench before their product is hurt.

And the thinking that calls fourteen million dollars chump change is exactly how our budget got so distorted!

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

Exactly. And Mitt was right and if he does something about it, I'll vote to make him King. The litmus test is: is THIS program worth borrowing money from China to pay for it?? If it's not, it goes.
The best movie I've seen on this was "Dave" about a fake, stand-in president that gets the budget zeroed out in one afternoon armed with nothing but some common sense. It's a great movie. Watch it.
