Hey everyone!

I need to send out a rx for repair today on my way home from wrk. I've never done this before so I want to contact them to get info on the procedure but I don't have a contact # to do so.

Does anyone have a # for their customer service?
An address would be helpful too

Thanks!
Jason

Call them first and let them know your sending in a product. They will give you a work order #. Keep this number, as it will reference your product. If under warranty, their protocol requires you to send in receipt with date of purchase and print off a work order. If you cannot print off the work order, you need to write on a piece of paper what the issue your having with the product. There is a waiting period for repairs.

If under warranty and they cannot fix the issue, you will soon receive a brand new product.

Ok! Thanks guys

But...what if I don't have a receipt or purchase date? I bought a heli from another member here and the issue is with the rx that came with it.

The issue is:
I can't get it to power up. I've tried everything I can but I'm getting no response when I hook it up to power. I was told to send it in and they'd fix her up.

I don't want to bother the guy I got it from for receipts and any other documents bc he actually sent me a new rx out of another heli of his and told me to just keep the bad one and try to get it fixed.

Will Horrizon give me any problems if I don't have documentation with proof of purchase? I want to kind of know what I'm looking at before I contact them, ya know!

In this case, there is no warranty. Horizon Hobby will have the item fixed or replaced, but for you, it will be an out of pocket expense.

I have no idea what Rx model it is.

It could be a number of things. The team at Horizon will go through a checklist to find the source of the problem. When / if found, they will charge for labor and the cost of the part.

I had AR7000 that just quit working. Sent in receipt with product. They could not locate the issue, so they sent me a brand new AR7010 at no charge.

Horizon are good people. No worries.

I can't imagine they look to hard, probably cheaper to throw in the gargage and give you a new one.

They will probably repair it for free out of "good customer service".

Ok, now wait a minute. The guy you bought this from already gave you a replacement receiver? Now it sounds like you're trying to send this in for warranty service? Aren't you already taken care of?

That is correct ^ but when he stated he'd send me another rx I asked him if he wants me to ship this back to him and he said "No you can keep it and try to have it repaired"

The heli I received from him had stripped gears on 3 of the 4 servos and this rx issue. He sent me a rx and servos and said to keep the damaged items bc that was the least he could do. That's pretty awesome if you ask me. He went over and beyond to make the sale right on my end and it was greatly appreciated.

He received the heli in a package deal. He looked it over and posted it for sale to regain some funds back. He said he never powered it up to check the functions.

Give Them A Call...
You cannot beat the Horizon Hobby team...
I have sent rx's in that I told them I had purchased used and they have always taken GREAT care of me...
If it can be repaired they will do it... or they may offer you an exceptional deal on a new one... Or as Justin mentioned they might just cover it since you are a new customer with them...
Just tell them what you have said hear and that it came in a heli that you purchased and that it doesn't work... they will take good care of you....

Oh and to the othere poster, no it doesn't sound as if he was asking for a warranty repair, or he would not have ask the cost!!!!

Good Luck, Stan

Thanks Stan! I did call them and they were exceptionally polite and very helpful explaining how the repair process goes. He told menus have to just go on their site and fill out a form to send with the rx. That's it. Seems easy enough!

Read the thread again Doorman. Originally the OP was looking for warranty service and was concerned about not having documentation. Only after it was suggested by another RR member that there would be no warranty, did the OP asked about cost. In any case Horizon is liable to give him a receiver for free or very reduced cost. They are much better with customer service than Hobbico/Tower/Great Planes.

Read It Again...
OK MartyH, I took your advise and read it again... and I still say he was not looking to rip Horizon off for a warranty repair or anything of the sort...

But...what if I don't have a receipt or purchase date? I bought a heli from another member here and the issue is with the rx that came with it.

Sounds like he was being straight up, but never using their service prior, I can understand the questions he was asking, and rightfully so....I could also see where someone could have read/thought that he was looking for warranty, but I really didn't think so...

So we can agree to disagree if need be!!!! No problem!!!!

I will definetly agree with you 100% about the services of the other companys you called out though...

Thanks, Stan
