So now that the 105 is broken in my hobbico 12v starter hates my 105. Today I had to put a 3s and a 2s pack in series 18.5v to get the darn thing started!! What a monster! My starter is on its last leg anyway. So looking for suggestions that will last a long time. What are u guys using that works everytime?

Dynatron with a Finer Edge Makkita batt adaptor is with out a doubt the best nitro starting solution.
Keep a close eye on the classifieds I have seen them sell for a steal.

I'll second that!
I don't even have the finer edge adaptor on mine, just a MA stand/mount and two old 3s packs left over from the 450 days!
CRANKING!!!

I also agree, the Finer edge battery adapter was a great investment. I have been using mine for quite some time with a KSJ starter. On my 105 it turns over with no problem.

I've discovered that the Aling starter will in fact start a 105, I know the Dynatron will w/o a doubt. Leaning on the dynatron for sure but if you guys have an Align starter and were wondering if it worked, it works great w/o a problem.

Well I have seen a 105 started with a Dynatron powered by a 3S lipo so that would be my recommendation.

Any average starter works just fine.

Get a better BATTERY!

A 4S LiPo will turn up to 50cc engine with ease. if you have to buy a new starter, get a Dynatron, But it'll be only good as the battery driving it.
4S makes a HUGE difference.

I had the same starting problem with my 105 using 2 nicad packs. I was getting like two starts then i had to charge. I switched to a 4S 4000 lipo pack and now i can start my 105 all day long.

tower hobbies starter $39.00 that i have had for 4 years now
battery $30.00 new
+1 a good battery makes the difference

I use an Align starter on 4S....Works awesome and way smoother on 4S than it was on 3S.

I literally never use the word literally right.
