I sure wish Hirobo would make a 550-600 size electric.

My rogue glow field is now gone : ( SDX flying will be very infrequent from now in.

Heck, at this point even a rumor would be nice.

Dr Ben or anyone?

Bummer, maybe next time around.

I have a 550 calling me from a certain Radio co at the moment. Had me wonder if Hirobo had something in the works.

Never hurts to ask!

I hope so.

The 550 size would suit me very well right now in terms of total cost and size. Hopefully it would make business sense for them to do so.

I don't think it is the right time for a larger Hirobo 3D electric at the moment. Hirobo tends to produce slightly heavier helis than the other brands out there, so I am guessing that waiting another year or so for some super-charged lipos will be on the cards.

Hirobo Shuttle EP, it's a 550 size EP heli.

A bit of old design though, but I love Hirobo and trust anything Hirobo made.

The way I see it is that whenever Hirobo is dormant in any activities pertaining to their products or news, it only means that they are secretly designing or testing new models to be released next year. Usually the turn around time for new designs and products is 1 - 2 years.

Nurmberg Toy Fair is where they usually debut a new model. This event is held every February and considering that it's already October that's not very far in terms of company time and schedules. So far Hirobo has been very good at protecting their secret plans or designs; they're like the skunk works of the RC heli industry.

And speaking of rumors since you are inquiring about one; rumor has it that Hirobo will be releasing an Eagle4 800 size electric. Someone has posted a thread in this section about that. How true this is? I don't know whether the source is reliable or a hoax. Let's just wait and see for ourselves...shall we?

Hi gouki, I did see that. But it looks like a conversion?

Maybe they are listening, a little.

If Hirboo can follow the norm to produce 500, and 550 size electric, that will be nice.

No conversions, I would like to see purpose built 550 and 600 leccys. The engineering done for a conversion could have went towards a frame, no?

I wonder if they are gauging the market? Or maybe they decided it was too crowded?

Thoughts anyone?

I think Hirobo's main focus now is not on r/c heli but something else like aerospace and unmanned navigation etc.

i think somebody mentioned before that hirobo will only make a new model if the market is in high demand for it. like the embla, they seem to have waited too long to have decided to make a model in that category i love my embla BTW

That's what I worry about. I respect a company that doesn't jump on every little trend. But if they are too conservative, I worry they will vanish altogether.

The Embla looks terrific. If I weren't so in invested in another brand of 450, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Electric Evo
These mechanics came out of my scale Agusta 109 fuse as a nitro and is going back into the fuse as an electric.

Surprised at the power it had and the head speed was very high of course, don't have a tach but guessing 1700+ it has a 87t Delrin gear with stock 10t clutch bell pinion. Ordered a clutch bell with 9T pinion thats made for the .30 size Evo, that should lower the headspeed some. Running a 780KV Z-50 Power, Phoenixtec 100a ESC on 6S 5000mah batt. Still testing and I'm new to electric so I can't answer all those technical questions.

Took about an hr to convert from nitro to electric because I already had the Century electric motor mount and a Great Planes 5mm prop adapter. If you use the prop adapter from Century there is not enough threads for the nut, there is just enough now as it is but the .30 size fan mount would work better because its shorter than the .50 size stock one and then you could use the Century prop adapter. I did have to drill 4 extra holes for the bolts for the motor mount, best part is I can go back to nitro anytime I want........

The Century motor mount spacing for the motor is 30mm so the Scorpion and some of the other motors might not work unless you redrill the mount for 25mm.

This would also work on the SDX too, I think its all the same parts.

PM if you need more info.

Very cool

Where do you mount the lipo? Is it a brick pack or do you have 3 in the front and 3 in the back?

Thanks, and right now its a brick pack and mounted just behind the front skids, mounted cross way which makes it nose heavy. If everything works out then it will have two 3S packs mounted on the insides of the fuselage.
