There is a lot of talk revolving around taxes and the election.

I found this to be a particularly simple way to explain and understand the
difficulties with offering tax cuts.

Hope you enjoy and give this some thought.

Beer and Tax Cuts Explained

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for a beer and the bill for all ten
comes to $100.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like
this:

* The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

* The fifth would pay $1.00

* The sixth would pay $3.00

* The seventh would pay $7.00

* The eighth would pay $12.00

* The ninth would pay $18.00

* The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.00

So that's what they decided to do. The men drank in the bar every day and
seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day the owner threw them
a curve.

"Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to
reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.00."

Drinks for the ten men now cost just $80.00.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes, so the
first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what
about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the
$20 windfall so that everyone would get their "fair share?"

They realized that $20.00 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted
that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each
end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it
would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he
proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

* The fifth man, like the first 4, now paid nothing (100%
savings).

* The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).

* The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).

* The eighth now paid $9 instead of 12 (25% savings).

* The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

* The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before! And the first four continued to
drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare
their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20" declared the sixth man. He
pointed to the tenth man, "But he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get
$10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get
anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down
and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they
discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of
them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax
system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from
a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they
just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas
where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.

For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

What a dumb analogy, taxes work in percentages. And people who make money off investments pay a far less percentage than working americans. Im all for no income tax, we should pay tax on what we buy, not what we earn. Then the greedy fools can die with their money.

What pisses me off is that the only one that has any sense of entitlement is the damn government. They act like we work for them anymore.

The thinking is so f$cked! To think that they "Allow" people to have money drives me nuts. And that dumb asses cheer on politicians that want to tax someone (ANYONE) more money just boggles my mind.....as if that translates to more money given directly to the people that cheer.

By the people, for the people has taken on a whole new meaning courtesy of the minions that serve Barack Obama.

For me, this election determines the end of America. If the people don't get their minds right, it's too late if Barack Obama wins.

The "Rich" aren't any one group of people. It's all of us and who we aspire to be if we work hard, take risks, and apply our passions to better our future.

I am so sick of potential being demonized by the Communist in the White House. That's all he is when you boil it down, a Communist with narcissistic tendencies. This guy shouldn't get 5% of the vote.

He sits on his high horse unqualified to do anything, but dictate what we should do, how we should feel about it, and what we should make doing it. That's the EXACT opposite of the intended purpose of the American Dream. Until people stand up and say "NO DAMN IT!" and it becomes a popular movement, I question the fortitude of the people in this country.

Furthermore, watching Obama supporters that actually have intellect try to justify his actions in the past 4 years as being reasoning for another four is so infuriating. Reason being, they don't realize that they are promoting their own downfall in a narrow minded future that they can't see for themselves or their families. Truly, how hard do I have to try to save someone from themself?

But, they also pay, by far, the lions share of all federal taxable income.

Liberlas should be thanking them. Instead, they demonize them for their success simply to take attention away form their own failures.

You cannot get a job from a poor man.
Im all for no income tax, we should pay tax on what we buy, not what we earn.
Yes, that sounds good in theory. But, what it does in practice is make all those (approx 40% of Americans that are not paying taxes now to start paying them when they buy anything. In addition, all those seniors that are on fixed incomes will get price hikes they have never before seen in history.

Then the greedy fools can die with their money.
Yup, thats a very typical lefty talking point. In other words, all those that succeed are greedy and selfish. You see, a federal sales tax will not affect the well to do very much. In fact, it may please them and lower their tax burden. But, it will definitely affect all those in lower incomes in a very dramatic way.

Liberty once lost, is lost forever.

The system is too crooked to comprehend. Rich people make money off investments. But the money is all printed out of thin air, its not real. We didnt need them investing at all since the fed is a false economy. Hard work is real, but most people have never worked hard so they cant think from that point of view. And the banks are making money off "false" investments. They dont even need the money to loan/invest it? And they still go out of business???
And the presidential election is looking like a money laundering scheme that happens every 4 years. Where the heck is all this money coming from and going too? Its a so called bad economy yet they both have tons of $$$ coming in?

You won't get any argument from me on that one.
Rich people make money off investments. But the money is all printed out of thin air, its not real.
Money that is earned and, after taxes that is spent is very real. If you get a paycheck from your work efforts, you know its very real.
We didnt need them investing at all since the fed is a false economy.
In our capitalist system, if the rich were not investing, we would not be working. Jobs would disappear out the window.
Hard work is real, but most people have never worked hard so they cant think from that point of view.
??????

And the banks are making money off "false" investments. They dont even need the money to loan/invest it? And they still go out of business???
I see you are still in grade school as far as your education. Or maybe you went to mars to get educated.
And the presidential election is looking like a money laundering scheme that happens every 4 years. Where the heck is all this money coming from and going too? Its a so called bad economy yet they both have tons of $$$ coming in?
They certainly do. Want to know where all that money is coming form? Its coming from people that work hard and earn it themselves. From your own words, you have no idea at all how a capitalist system works. None at all. You seem to be living in that liberal mind set of following along with this so called progressive left. Its an alternate universe. Its easy to see that in your own words.

I really think a LARGE amount of the money in Obama's campaign is coming from overseas through bundlers. Countries that wish to do us harm and have control of our economy are investing in Barack Obama and it makes me sick.

Obama's money is being funneled in through his website unchecked. The feds/media are turning a blind eye toward this.

Nothing was done about this during the Clinton campaigns and nothing will be done about it during this campaign.

Its amazing to me simply because these accounts to take credit card donations are simple merchant accounts. The same type of credit card account any merchant or retail business sets up with his/her bank to accept credit cards for his business. Those merchant accounts can be set up to refuse and funds from outside the USA. That is a very important concern for web sites with shopping carts. I have set up several of those and always there are certain countries which you must not take credit cards form and you certainly do not want to ship to. In fact, the banks will notify you of those countries and recommend you not do business in those countries.

It just takes a very simple federal law that would limit credit card contributions to political campaigns to be within the USA and refuse any contributions outside the USA.

Its so simple its frightening why it still goes on except for the outright corruption of it. Thats precisely what it is, even though its perfectly legal to do so as many things in Washington DC are.

The bank gets 100 dollars it loans like 800 off of the 100. THe people who put that system in place shouldnt have graduated 4th grade.
400 dollar theft is a felony, it hasnt changed in 20 years even though a dollar has. Why dont these bankers go to jail, they steal way more than 400. Chase stole money from me and admitted it and pointed to the contract and I hadnt been diligent enough to notice the double fees. I wonder how they reported that stolen income, or did they x 1 million?

And my ass that in a bad economy the people are throwing funds at the election campaign. Im not sure but isnt there more money in this campaign than any previous??? I am not falling for the government bs.

That practice has been severally limited through banking regulations and loan regulations, and is the direct result of predatory lending and the housing crisis which brought our economy to its knees and costs millions upon millions of jobs.

There are more protections that need to be put in place. But, that will never happen as long as the Obummer and his pals are in office.

Thats why I said 8 times instead of ten. They are still pushing limits, thats why so many banks go out of business after paying the execs huge amounts.

And you put your foot in your mouth because the limits came during Obummers administration, it was rampant when Gw handed over the reigns.

The only banks going out of business right now is small, local banks. The big banks have been protected by the Dodd-Frank banking bill. Another well over 2000 page bill the Dems forced through the congress and senate without reading and on to the Obummer for his signature into law.

In other words, the big banks are to big to fail and they are guaranteed federal dollars if they fail. In other words, your tax dollars are on the line once again.
And you put your foot in your mouth because the limits came during Obummers administration, it was rampant when Gw handed over the reigns.
Yup, the Dodd-Frank banking law went into effect during this administration. Thats what I meant when I said earlier that regulations have been put into effect to prevent predatory lending.

However, during the Bush admin, Bush was not strong enough in his warning s in congressional committees about the loosening of those same banking laws. Particularly when it came to home loans. There are plenty of YouTube video evidence of Bush admin officials warning the banking committee about the coming home loan crisis. Those warnings were largely ignored on the left and along came the economic crisis at the end of the Bush admin as a direct result. Bush obviously was not a strong enough leader to stop it.

It started during the Clinton admin when Clinton started loosening some of the requirements for home loan approval in the supposedly "well meaning attempt" to get more people into home ownership. Then, it gradually got worse. When the Dems took over congress in 2007, those restrictions almost disappeared and onto the biggest economic collapse in US history was a direct result of weal and corrupt leadership in Washington DC.

Yep - The Fair Tax. Good book by Neil Boortz on the subject. Bill has been brought up many times, can't even get on the floor for a vote. Why??? Lawyers and CPA's have too much clout. Put 90% of them out of business. The only problem with it is, they's have to ammend the constitution to outlaw income tax. Otherwise, after they enact a VAT, they'd bring the income tax back.
Obama's money is being funneled in through his website unchecked. The feds/media are turning a blind eye toward this.
Funny you should mention that. I'm a "mole" in his campaign e-mail crud, so I can see what they're saying. There is a link (of course with his and Moochelle's picture) to "Register today, before it's too late". How can they do or even say that??? How can you register online?? I had to jump thru 10 hoops just to change my polling location a month ago. Ther's gonna be a lot of shady stuff being done by his team...I just hope they get caught or at the least, it somehow gets stopped, but that falls under DOJ, so we know what will happen there.
