Hi Guys,

My 130X tilts hard to the right when I spool up. This is a new behavor after a very minor soft crash in a grass field.

I checked it by holding the frame while spooling up and discovered the left-side Aleron servo is fully extending when the throttle and elevator are increased to take off, as if full right aleron was being input on the transmitter. Everything looks normal wrt my transmitter setup.

Context and setup:
I had good luck with my 130X right out of the box. I did modify my battery to a standard JST plug. Otherwise, my heli and transmitter setup is stock.

I hav had a couple of minor crashes and my tail gear stripped the D fittng.

Any suggestions for what to check (or replace)?

I give rebinding a try.

I did rebind at the field a couple of times. I'll try taking the battery out of the transmitter, replacing it, and then rebinding for the ultimate cycle.

I did post on "another forum" and the suggested fix was to use sub-trim. My concern is that the adjustment would be too big. The servo literally is moving to its maximum extension.

My friends at the field, RC HELI'S ONLY in Knightdale NC, suspect the board may be bad, possibly damaged in crash.

I'm still searching for possible setup or tuning fixes before incurring the expense of replacing the board and possibly still having the problem.

Sam,

Read the threads regarding the t/r gears. I'd bet the flat on the small gear on the t/r end of the torque tube is rounded. That's a very common problem and the result is that the t/r fails to properly function and that causes the gyro to do stupid stuff.

A gear set is $3.99 and it takes about 10 minutes to replace the gear.

The problems with the 130 t/r assembly are well documented and clearly is the "weak link" in this model.

I was convinced I had a bad servo and/or gyro, but it was the gear all along.

Not sure how helpful this will be but my 130 will go full right aileron during my hand launch if I hold on too long. I simply and quickly pull off all throttle which resets swash to level and run right back up to hover speed. You have to let go pretty quick or the swash will drift off again.

There may not be anything wrong with your heli at all. . . . .

Hi Daves,

My tail gear was stripped out in the D fitting for the tail gear.

I replaced the gear and the problem persists. Still not sure how to procede.

My buddies at the field suspect the board is damaged. I'm trying to exhaust alternatives before buying a replacement.

Mitchilito,

Greatings from Central NC. Check out "NC Central Heli Fliers" on FB for local activity including a Heli fly-in in Goldsboro in October. PM me for more information.

I do suspect something is amiss with the Gyro or FBL controller, I'm jus tnot sure if it's a configuration/setup thing or a broken part to be replaced.

does the servo act correctly when the heli is not spooled up? How about if you take the blades off (main and tail) and spin it up in your hands then try tilting the heli around - the swash should move to correct the heli movement. should be able to move the swash around from the radio also. it'll look kind of odd since the gyro isn't sensing any movement but it'll at least tell you if the servos are moving correctly and the controller board is responding so commands.

before spending money on (relatively) expensive items try calling Horizon support and talk to them. They have really treated me right every time I call them.
