can't really mix/match those two setups. They will at the very least require different pinions. usually 4S setups use in the range of a 3000kv motor where the 3S setups are in the range of 3700kv motors.
my experience is with 4S you get a better running, cooler running batteries. if the motor is geared correctly it'll run well. The ESC needs to be able to handle the 4S setup. I did it with the stock Align ESC and it worked but I put a separate BEC so the ESC wouldn't get too hot. I think the Align ESC is only rated for 4S if it is not using the BEC.
C ratings on battery packs are 75% marketing hype IMO. better to judge a pack based on it's internal resistance and how many flights it'll run before IR starts to go higher.
A 4S 1800mah pack weighs about the same as a 3S 2200mah pack. They will both give you about 4 minutes of flight time, same headspeed. 4S setup bogs less when you get aggressive.
