Any update here on the tail performance issue. I have the EXACT same issue as the OP: heli flies fine, but with fast backwards flight and especially with some wind, blow outs are all over the place.

130 tail drama
You might try what I did. After fighting Blade's tail design which is meant to break and force you to buy more parts I decided to go to the next level. I invited all my friends who fly over to my crib. I flew the 130x for a bit before the tail showed its ugly inability to work for more than one battery of flight. This time after spinning back to earth with a usual c or d gear issue I picked up the heli and placed it in the middle of the road. Now with my fellow pilots observing I slowly ran over it with my car. Yes the plastic crunching felt very good. I will not be worrying about the meshing of these gears ever again. All Blade ever needed was the ability to adjust the floating design. I asked them this and they said it's a finished design. Of course it is. . . Now I am offering therapy sessions to anyone scarred by their ridiculous effort. When it flies I love it but unfortunately it's about 1% of it's possible flight time. Later 130x. . .

I put an aftermarket tail box on it, then cut down some plastic 250 blades until they fit just enough to not strike the main blades. I also had to replace the tail servo. After the mods and new tail servo, it worked better, but I could still make it blow out when I got the tail too far out of line in fast backwards flying. It was 100% better... but that is not saying much with this heli.

I finally stuck it on a shelf (after another cyclic servo stopped working in flight) and started flying one of my 450s instead of the 130. Problem solved. It doesn't take a hit like the 130, but it is 1000% better. It no longer breaks/strips in the air. Blowouts are extremely hard to do and I have to really bog the heli hard to make it let go. The advice in the post above is probably the best solution to the 130's constant problems.

ok, thanks, I feel your pain. I might already rev up my car... My heli buddies suggest cheap KBDD tail blades, but probably wishful thinking. It is all about avoiding this terrible looming money pit for this heli... I'll probably stick to my Goblin 500 and 700

After all the spares, aftermarket parts and replacement servos, I could have bought another 700. Some days I loved that little money pit, but most days I was just frustrated with it. Waste of money IMO if you are looking for consistant 3d flying.
