Hi all,

This is to notify RealFlight version 6.5 has been released.

As can be expected, tweaks and new things have been incorporated. One you'll notice at first glance is everything looks brighter. Great work KE!

To clarify, Realflight 6.5 has NOT been released.
A Realflight 6.5 BETA has been released. Small technicality, but big difference.

Anyhow, downloading the beta now. Will let you know what I think about it after I play with it for a while.

I hope this will be a free update when released. Seems like most the ones that are .5 used to be. Chuck

I hope it is free. I currently have version 6.054. I would try the beta but my son flies online a lot. Chuck

You can fly online with the v6.5 Beta, but only with others that also have the v6.5 beta.

In fact, I just tried connecting to davehour's online session, but it requires a password (I don't know the password)

Oh, sorry Dood.

It was a private session but will be hosting public ones in the near future. Please join and say hi.

RF6 is becoming better and better. I'm loving this sim. I would recommend it to anyone.

Can't wait for the upgrade, I just got a new LED flat screen connected to my computer and a second SLI video card to support RealFlight on it, doubled the frame rate. Going from a 22" monitor to 47" for flying is great and it is right in front of my work bench

I upgraded and although it doesn't say anything about better physics, I believe it does! At the moment it seems to demand more graphic capabilities from your graphics card, so you may have to make some adjustments, but it is still a beta release so it will be improved upon. All in all I like it!

Did you have to reload all the helps you are currently using? I'd hate to do that as we have downloaded many different ones and color schemes. Thanks. Chuck

Just a notice to everyone having a non-US keyboard: It will crash unless you choose to use US keyboard as default.

What you can do is, go to Control Panel -> Region and language, click on Change Keyboards. Hit Add and add 'English (United States)'.
Move it to the top and on the top bar make it default keyboard.
Now it may already be on the list but make it default anyways.

Should look something like this:

If you encounter a text field that chooses the US keyboard and you want to type in your native language, just hit 'ALT + Shift' and it will swap between them

Might seem a hassle but its in BETA, aka its not expected to work perfectly on everything.

Other than that I like it, may seem too bright on some fields, like bloom is turned way up but its ok.

I downloaded it and so far no complaints. It may be just me but the flight characteristics seem to be even more realistic. Great job Knifedge (Realflight) Chuck

I don't think so. It feels no different at all to me. I flew both versions back to back.
There is no mention whatsoever of a physics tweak in the beta announcement.

That said, I think it's just you

I think it flies a little better also. I don't have to turn up the physics speed. I know it doesn't say anything about better physics, but I believe it does have improvements.

If you have RF6, Rf6.5 is free! Just in case you didn't already know that.

Does anyone have a decent flying 90 size nitro model on this new release? Or what have you tweaked to get something better? Seems like the Dominion 90 has a TON of bog stock.
