Is it ok if HV servo such as BLS157HV or 255HV supplied with 5.5V?

I don't want to disable the BEC of my Helijive.

Thanks.

They will be OK if you reset the BEC to 6V with a ProgCard and use a small buffer pack. They will just not be as fast or as strong.

Thanks, doctor.

But do these BLS work with 5.5V?

Another question: some BLS states at 6.6V, do they work with 6V?

Thanks again.

They will work. Just slower and less torque. You will have to see if the decrease in performance is to the degree that you are effectively wasting too much of the performance potential of the servos.

Start saving for a Kosmik . HV BEC in that one.

I ran my bls255 at 6v via heli jive and they worked ok. I noticed a big difference when I switched to a 2s lipo tho.

As said they'll work but you are defeating purpose abit as HV servos of course shine in speed and torque once 7.4 volts and up is applied. Another option if you want to utilize that is to go with a Western Robotics Super BEC for your rx/servo power and so on.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

My bls256hv did go hard right piro at 6.0v. I could land it, but not stop the piro. It happened after the first minute of flight. I measured the bec voltage at 5.8v with a volt meter.

The spec says 6.5, but some online retailers had the spec incorrectly posted at 6.0v.
