So I am nearly done with my Xxtreme and noticed last night while setting up the tail, when using the manuals suggested 16mm or center hole on the tail servo horn it is not possible to keep tail travel limits below 120 and have full tail travel.

I am up to 140 in both directions and still not touching either tail rotor hub or gearbox bearing.

Just curious what other Xxtreme owners are doing for setup.

I was thinking of going up to the last hole but thought I would see whats up first

Regards.

Limits are only suggestions. If you find it's too slow goto 18-20mm.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

In a related question, since there is no adjustment in pushrod length or tailboom position on this heli, when i have the tail slider in center of its range, the servo arm center position is about 15 degrees towards the front of the heli. Is this normal? On my other helis i usually make the servo arm about vertical when the tail slider is in center position and adjust AFR travel to get balanced rotation.

A little forward works-out about right in helping keep the end-point values close to the same.

In the end, if your end-point adjustments in the tail section of the V-Bar's set-up menu are asymmetrical (say 20 points difference), adjust the length of the rod a turn or two longer or shorter to get the end-points close to the same value. All this helps keep the yaw rates the same in both directions.
