Just bought the 3 blades E6 combo.

It comes with the standard 3500G tail servo and the tail blades in it, according to the manual, is 82mm.

You are right that the loading in the tail is higher. In my SY12 with 3 blades head, JR recommends to use 115mm tail blades from the original 105mm.

In the manual, it recommends to use 11T pinion for the 3 blades head so I guess this head needs lower head speed.

There is more torque because of more mass and drag with 3 blades than with 2. My experience was that the servo was not a problem but the stock tail blade size was barely enough with 3 blades. I would however be very careful going with larger tail blades as the potential for interference with the main blades becomes a problem.

Just maiden this little thing. The stock tail blades are up to the job for aerobatics. JR has 92mm carbon blades for it as an option though.

Tail servo comes down quite warm. Other than that it flies very well, without any issue with stock settings. The TAGS pre-loaded with settings for the MB331 head.

The kit is designed for mini servos, I have the combo package and it flies great as is.

Other pilots seem to have installed their own electronics with good results, of course we all have our own opinion and likes / dislikes.

I am flying mine with the stock electronics. I actually like the TAGS, I was pleasantly surprised that the mini tail servo does a good job on a heli this size. I am currently thinking of trading out the ESC as I cannot figure out how to use the governor function. Does anyone have a link to show me how to use the gov function of this esc.

Thanks,

Les

I honestly never have use the gov.
my setting at 75% at all points for idle up work for me.

If your having some problem with maintaining head speed you can adjust your pitch curves.

Mine is on the combo electronics except the esc, same servos but updated with metal gears.

Forgot where I found the esc user manual but I managed downloaded one from JR website. PM me if you need so that I can email it to you.

My friend tried the governor function but the result is not very good so he switched back to manual throttle. As said above, it is a question of matching the pitch and throttle curve, understand that a handy governor is better however. I notice there is three spots in the secondary gear for you to glue magnets and JR has governor sensor mounting bracket for the E6 so there may or may not external governor sensor function in the stock esc.

Actually the stock JR servos work quite well. I have only have a handful of flights on it since I got it used but they seem to work just fine.

I have the manual downloaded from JR but it doesn't say anything about setting up and using the governor function.

Oh well I guess Ill just keep flying around with a flat 75% TC been flying nicely there. Will try to tach my HS some time this weekend.

Aloha,

Les

I am running the stock JR motor now. I had a Kontronik on one of them, couldn't tell the difference so I stuck with the stock motor.

You will love this hell!

I've been so disgusted with the ability to get anything for JR helis in the US that I typically just order from RC Japan. They've been fantastic to deal with, prices are often less than here, shipping has been surprisingly fast. I've received things I ordered in a week or less. They show it in stock. If you elect to go that route, you'll place your order and since you're in the US they'll send you an email as soon as the business day in Japan starts with the cost including shipping which has been very reasonable. Like I said, I just go to them now for parts when I've needed or wanted something.
