How many still use 4.8 volt batteries and what batteries do you use.
I got my old raptor going again with 9252 servos and 4.8 battery and it still rocks.

I still have 2 - 3400maH sub-C NiMh packs I fly in my G30 gasser. They work just fine. I get 4 - 5 flights on each and it's nice not having the run a regulator (or a generator).

I do have a volt-watch module located near the rear of the heli so I can keep an eye on what the voltage of the pack is doing.

Still using them here with my 9252's. I tried a Lipo regulated setup and went back to nicd's. Figured why add a point of failure when I rarely get enough flights to deplete the nicd. Of course I am only half a mile from my field so I can come home and do a quick charge if needed.

Walk on water long enough, eventually you will get your feet wet.

My X-Cell #1004 still uses nicad's and has S9202 servos. Going to run HV on the whiplash.

Yes some of us still use them and they work quite well. Four to five flights from a fully charged pack.

I'm using a 4.8 3600 MH NMIH on an old #1001 X-Cell, can fly 4 or 5 tanks without worrying. Just sport flying though.

No 4.8V batteries for me, I use BEC or the BEC in the ESC. Of course this is for electric only. Also since my flying is very mild, no use going to HV servos.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Lipos and regulators in my heli and plane and anythin else I have/had that ran a nitro engine. As a Spektrum user there is no way I am taking the chance of under powering the rx.

I use 4 cell packs in my planes and on my Spectra-G. Some of them are a decade old and still work fine.
