And with a 550..Ay Carumba
The first guy was as careless as the last.
The sound it made at 5:38 is a good audio reminder to the power in these things, and the potential to kill.
Guess I shouldent let it bug me. But it does..

He did not even know the basics about controlling the machine....horrible. And this in a public park. 1000% careless.
Plus he must have lots of money. Otherwise you would not go this way.

Horrible, he should of been on a buddy box or not touched the heli until he come at least hover. I hope he realizes that he can seriously hurt himself or some innocent bystander.

I see totally different issues.

That could have been Alan Szabos heli crashing into the gazebo with a mechanical failure...Just sayin.

Everyone agrees it's stupid when a newbie flies in a public park because of the risk of life but no one has ever heard of a heli crashing in the hands of an experienced flyer.

Park flyers are selfish and inconsiderate.

Great Instructor....
I think he must be at the stage of teaching him what needs to be repaired after every 30 second (or less) flight... so far the program looks to be right on track!!!!
Someone earlier mentioned a SIM...I think he should be this guys NEW INSTRUCTOR....

A crash due to mechanical failure is an accepted risk. Two dumb#%£ people rushing to let a guy fly his new heli with obviously no concept of flying basics, is an avoidable risk.
I'm fine with sh%^ can happen, but I'm never ok with sh%^ is gonna happen...which is the case in the video!

We were all new once. The problem isn't that he has poor control over the machine, the problem is where he's flying it.

The first part clip there looked like he was at a club field, and the only thing he did wrong was thump it down instead of hitting throttle hold.

The second part of the clip where he really smacked it in is a stage all of us had to go through to learn. The problem is not that he crashed, but his choice of venue to attempt the flight.

As someone else mentioned, this could have been Alan Szabo flying in that park, and it still would have been reckless and irresponsible.

Sh!t WILL happen eventually if it "can happen".

By flying in a park, you are saying loud and clear that you do not care who has to be hurt or killed so you can play with your heli.

Anything that can go wrong,WILL go wrong....Eventually.

Nobody even got hurt in this newb video but the guys that mauled the girl in Tampa were advanced flyers....AND AMA MEMBERS....Their names and info have been hidden now but it was released that they were AMA members.

As stated above...Park flying is reckless and irresponsible.

All of 'em?
Park flying is reckless and irresponsible.
ParkZone make an entire product line of park flyers:

http://www.parkzone.com/ParkFlyers/

And let's not forget Park Pilot magazine:

http://www.theparkpilot.org/

I agree that SOME people are irresponsible and fly the wrong models in the wrong places, but let's not generalize.

and let's not deliberately change the context of other people's words either.

We're not talking about lightweight foamies with tiny props and a few hundred watts of power.

We're talking about machines which weigh several kilograms or more, swing a set of CF rotors measuring between 1 and 2 meters in diameter, and output as much power as a mid-range push-mower.

You know what I mean and you're intentionally twisting it.

But MOST park flyers are reckless and dangerous...Even 450's and moderate sized foam planes.

I saw no others at the park so where was the big danger. It looked completely deserted to me. I would fly there anytime as long as it was deserted like that. The pilot definitely needs some sim time but I learned to fly helis before there were sims so I may have a different outlook. I learned to fly in several similar locations as long as no one was around.

IMO, no big deal there.

And you can also buy 1000's of different military grade assault rifles.
Most people who buy them are reckless and irresponsible.

Just because it's made and sold legally doesn't mean anyone using it is in the right.
