I have witnessed a bad vibration in the tail on more than one of the new 700E V3 DFC heli's including mine.

It only happens above 2000 headspeed which is what this heli is designed to run. It definitely sounds and feels like it is in the tail. I have spooled the heli up with just tail blades on it and you can hardly hold the booom when it gets over 2000 RPM on the head.

Replaced:
Torque tube
Tail blades
Tail hub
Tail grips
Output shaft on tail
Boom

The problem continues. Any suggestions. It is a hi-frequency vibe on the tail. If I take the tail hub off the vibration goes away.

Thanks all!

IT's what I do.

My vote would be out of balance tail blades or binding bearings (thrust or radial). I know you changed tail blades but I once went through 3 pairs back to back, where the first two sets were out of balance.

Done, I checked the blades when I put them on and the grips.

Maybe it is just too fast?

IT's what I do.

maybe some loctite got in the bearings?
Have a spare V2 hub and grips? if so try them

I tried different grips and a hub.

I think the issue is solely related to the tail speed. Does anyone have a 700E V3 that doesn't have a tail vibration over 2100 headspeed that you can hear?

My next step will be to remove the helical auto gear and replace the torque tube gear with the V2 version. That will reduce the tail speed and hopefully eliminate the issue.

IT's what I do.

what you are hearing is a harmonic due to the new tail ratio of 4.99 this was done so you dont have to run 2200 and higher on the head like the V2 to keep the tail locked in. i run mine at 2100 there is a high pitched sound that the tail makes from the increased rpms at the tail but i am not seeing any vibs in the tail fin.

The old ratio was 4.66 which will allows you to push the head speed higher above 2200 if thats where you like to fly, with the new mx 750 more that is not needed as it carries alot more torque at lower rpms let me know what like better Dino

I don't have a tail holding problem at 2000 on my V2, or 1900 for that matter! Not sure the 4.99 ratio was needed.

60% of the time, it works every time!

The most demanding tail manoeuver I do I'd say is fast bacwards flying and loops and so (I guess this is more demanding than tic-tocs for example), and I've never had issues at 1950 RPM on the V1 (3G) either .

Hi

I have the same vibration problem on my V3 HV combo realy bad vibs at the tail! Had a look at it this night, but every thing looks straight an no binding at all. Only thing i saw is that the front long umbrela gaear wher the torque tube goes in seems to be slightly out of axis, could this be the problem?
I will replace this and try again.

Regards

Jeannot

Mine still sounds the same as when you saw it at HOD. Nice Video.

I want your tail and boom... We will switch at IRCHA..

PS. I added a third bearing to the torque tube. No luck.

IT's what I do.

Hi everyboby;

Got rid of my vibs, simply changed the front long umbrella gear, aligned the main gear (had slight wobble in it) and used fixed endpoints on the cc120, no more vibs, even at 2400 rpm!
Now i have a slight tail deift, that iam trying to get rid of also, any hints are welcome :-)

Regards

Jeannot

Im feeling bad vibrations
Im running 1850 Normal and ST1 and 2000 St2 and my tail is vibrating so bad the tail case turns even when its so tightly clapped I am afraid of stripping the bolts. Take the blades off and its smooth as glass. The tail is free and all bearings smooth thrust bearing in the right order and direction there is no loctite anywhere binding bearings the torque tube is straight and the whole system is smooth. I have tried three completely different sets of tail blades Align, edge, radix and they all vibrate I am at a loss I have never had this much trouble with a new heli.
