I'm trying to help out a buddy and can't find all of the answers. Here is what we have:

700N converted to electric so most parts are from a nitro.
Has 700E bellcranks (for correct V-Bar geometry)
Has 700E elevator lever (for correct V-Bar geometry)
Has 700N elevator A-arm

He has a complete DFC head, DFC swash and DFC main shaft.

Making the links from the bellcranks to the swash shorter is easy enough. My question is about the A-arm, which can't be shortened.

So what is the trick or combination of parts required to get the DFC head, swash and shaft to work on a 700N elevator set-up?

THANKS

I don't have a DFC head on mine but it sounds like you have the correct combination of parts. What is the issue? I have read about guys trimming the ball link on top of the A-arm but I did not need to do that with the flybarless head, correct links from swash to grips, and correct mainshaft. The Nitro A-arm was the correct length on mine to put the swash where it should be.

700 conversion
You will have to use the A-Arm from the electric 700E V2 parts list Elevator arm set H70046, and Metal Aileron Lever/black HN7034BA with the 2 holes and it will give you the right amount of throw for the DFC head.

That is what I had figured. My only question is about the main shaft. Will that combo of parts work with the DFC main shaft or do I need to use the E main shaft?

700 conversion
You can use the DFC main shaft as I did with my nitro.

700 direct swash
I've been working on a direct to swash 700 for a couple of yrs now.
The geometry is awesome but getting the cg right has proven to be a b#$%h! Given up on the project for a while because of lack of time. but now that there are stock direct connect bearing blocks I'm going to give it another try. With a little luck I'll have some new frames cut tonight that will use all existing parts of a T700N with the addition of the new DFC bearing blocks. Will see how close the cg is. If its within reason I'll invest the time to try and see if its possible to correct by reworking the front of the frames to move weight forward. The project seems reasonable now that I don't have to spend HOURS cutting custom bearing blocks.

Pictures are in my gallery

Well, here is V3 of my project 700 using all stock parts except for the frames. Still have some pieces to finish for the 3rd cyclic servo and anti-bracket. Not sure when I'll get it finished..got some other cnc projects to finish first.
