Hi all, I know I have put a few posts on about my logo 500, but the vbar log shows raised vibration for the whole flight along with antena changes. I get about 10 antena changes in a flight and raised vibration for the whole flight I don't get extreme vibrations at all. I have tried mounting sensor with different pads. The heli looks really smooth. I have changed every thing in tail, all other bearings except thrust races in main grips but the blades don't go out of track.
Ive also changed Main shaft, feathering shaft and tail shaft.it's a new 4025-1100 motor.
I've changed tail blades and checked main blades for balance.

What else can cause this raised vibration issue.
Vbar records vibrations of 1600 on the log.

Getting bored now, with trying to sort it out.

Thanks Paul

Chasing vibration...

It HAS to be cause by a rotating part. So...

Remove the motor and run it out of the heli. Should feel glass smooth. Many guys have chased vibrations for a long time, and finally figured out the motor was not well balanced.

Now mount it and run it up to speed in the frames (disengaged from main gear), and note the v-bar's vibration reading.

Then set gear mesh, and run it head off (tail belt un-installed). Note vibration reading.

Add the head (no blades), and note the vibration reading.

Add the tail belt and tail gearbox, but no tail hub...just the tail shaft. Note readings.

Add tail hub, note readings.

Add blade grips (no blades), note readings.

Add tail blades (have a friend hold the tail while you run it up. Note readings.

Why do all this???

At some point along the way, something as you add components will suddenly spike the vibration reading. If you get everything on the heli rotating and the vibs are still low, then it's the main blades.

Hi dave
I've been through that process one at a time ,with no blades on running flat out
Vbar shows about 120 max vibration

I haven't tried spinning it up with tail blades on, but have tried it with new tail blades.every thing in the tail is now new.

Which lead me to believe its the head so put new main shaft and feathering shaft.
The only bearings I haven't changed is thrust races in main grips but the blades don't look to go out of track.
Im running maniac 553 blades which balance up ok.

I will try putting tail blades on and see if that makes any difference.

Then I'll know there is only the head

Thanks dave

Update

I have Run heli up with tail blades, and sure enough 65% throttle tail blades go out of track and vibration kicks in.
Couldn't find anything wrong at all. I changed tail hub for a spare one and all seems good. I could not see anything wrong with the other one, i even put it in a drill to see if i could see if it was bent but nothing. I will test flight Sunday to see how it goes.

Thanks dave for your input.

Maybe those other tail blade grips were notchy or binding a little bit.
That can cause tail vibrations.
