I just worry that Jeti won't be around for very long, and then I'll get stuck with a radio that I can't buy receivers for.

At least with Spektrum, you know they are going to be here for awhile.

interesting perspective and definately something to consider. I'm not sponsored by Jeti, I just use their ESC's, almost exclusively.I use Futaba radio equipment, so I'm not interested in their radios, however, Jeti has been in business since 1993 and grown continually. Spektrum something under a decade I think.Gary Wright

I flew my Jeti Mezon Opt 130 this weekend and was very impressed with the performance. The governor works extremely well. More info next weekend after I can make a few more flights. Thanks to Danny at Esprit Models for helping.

Well, the Scorpion, Kontronik, and Castle Creations ESCs have been dissected and fairly well documented on the forums. I have read where electrical engineers made comments that Scorpion ESCs "use a lot of FETs", Kontronik ESCs "have a lot of microprocessors" and Castle ESC's are "designed right on the edge of failure". There have been other comments made, but these are the comments I remember offhand.

Just curious what kind of design went into the Jeti Mezon ESCs. Are they remarkable in any way? Yes, they look nice. But then again, they are just a little rectangular box with "stuff" inside. They could be full of silly putty for all I know.

I don't know what's in mine but I plan on running it and honestly don't expect to have any issues while I do. Then again, I would expect that of any ESC that I run. You could always email Esprit and ask them.Delayed Response Operator Not Engaged

As mentioned by others, the governers work extremely well in the Hacker and Jeti controllers (both Spin and Mezon Series). However, there is a difference in setup. They both go from 1 to 20 on gain adjustment, however, the Spin series adjusts sort of "in reverse" with 1 being highest gain and 20 being lowest gain. I end up around 4, within a number each way. The Mezon adjusts with 20 as max governer gain and 1 as lowest. I'm at 18 on the mezon I currently have flying.Gary Wright

I just got mine setup this weekend and it is very easy with the Jetibox. I fired it up with a 6s pack for setup, ran through the settings in the Jetibox and even set the motor direction in the Jetibox which was nice because I didn't want to have to dig back into the model and switch the motor leads and the machine was setup. The Jetibox reads the high and low stick settings for the throttle, has adjustable BEC output for the RX and a really slick slow start up mode, adjustable auto recovery for aborting an auto and an auto lipo mode that lets you run a 6s pack for slow speed flight and then you just install a 12s flight pack for the normal flight profile.

All the usual ESC modes are in the unit so you can run fixed endpoint or governor mode. The Jetibox lets you log data and you don't need a Netbook or PC to program the unit in the field. Just one little box does it. I'm also using the Jeti Anti Spark connectors which are IMHO indispensible on a 12 model.

TM,
The Mezon's are supposed to have anti-spark built in. Why the use of the anti-spark connectors as well?

Thanks,
John

TM,
I'm pretty darn sure it was once listed as a feature. However, the web site is different now and lists almost no features. It was one of the couple reasons I bought it.

If you bypass the switch and leave it activated like I'm doing there may not be any anti spark capability.Delayed Response Operator Not Engaged

I don't see any reason why it won't. There is a fast throttle mode that should respond to gov input just fine.

The latest version of the Mezon 130 and 135 have a RPM output cable for use with an external gov. The signal level is 3.3v. These should be available by the end of the year.Danny - DemonAero Support Team
