Hey Guys,
Any scoop on the new Jeti Mezon line of ESCs? They look pretty interesting.

Thanks,
John

Anyone? I know they've just been released in the US but Esprit did give some away at IRCHA. The stock has been decreasing so someone is getting them.

I sure wish they would release more details and the manual.

If you have any questions on setup just PM me. I've been flying the spin series for many years, and a mezon 90 for several months. It's pretty straight forward to setup with the spin box. The mezon is great,.. you have all the features everyone wants with a good soft start, very good governer, auto bailout, data logging, BEC programmable from 5 to 8 volts in .1 increments,.. plus it's very affordable

I looked at one at IRCHA. They appear well built.

I received my Jeti Mezon 135 Opto ESC. It came in the box with a set of three bullet connectors for the motor and nothing else except a small pamphlet on proper disposal. They are still working on the English manual and there is one setup video. It doesn't fully cover heli mode setup, however.

It looks very well built just as I expected. The spec'd weight per Esprit is 75 g which sounded too good to be true. The actual straight-out-of-box weight for mine is 143.9 g. The spec'd weight must obviously be without any wires at all.

I hoping this thing is simply rock solid. It should be breathing easy on my Furion 6. I still need to buy a programming box, however, so that limits what I can do for now.

Well, I found out that not all Jeti Boxes are compatible with the newer Mezon line of ESCs. I ended up with one that is too "old." Apparently there is no way to visually tell whether a box is new enough or not.

Good question. They're not exactly dated. It looks just like the picture on Esprit. The Mezon ESCs are the only device with this compatiblity issue (per Esprit).

I'm chalking it up to being willing to try a new product.

I agree it is a bit frustrating but we are still on the steep part of the learning curve on these. The older Jeti Boxes can be sent to Jeti and be updated. New ones should be in stock within the next few days.

Danny,
I'm sure we'll figure something out. It might be helpful to know when Jeti made the change in the boxes. You're support thus far has been outstanding.

My brand new box is on the way.

Just a quick update. I received a new Jeti Box last week and it works great. What a nice, quick way to setup an ESC and the pulse width measurement feature allows you to get your throttle channel setup just right.

I'm still getting the heli together... I'm slow, what can I say.

Are these in stock at Esprit? Is the Jeti box needed to program the esc?

The Jetibox is in stock and you will need one to program the ESC, the ESC's are out of stock at the minute.

I'm seriously considering switching to a Jeti DC-16 TX and Mezon ESCs... The Mezon ESCs say they are compatible with an external governor, does anyone know if they have a phase sensor output (like YGE) that can directly feed the Vbar governor or do they require an external phase sensor?

I've been eyeballing the Jeti DC-16 for almost a year now and the integrated telemetry with the Mezon (specifically the actual pack consumption) looks like a great combo.

I think the Jeti transmitters look nice. Kind of like an Apple computer with the CNC aluminum. They look like they would last for many years.

The telemetry specifically when paired with a Mezon ESC for reporting and alarming based on actual pack mah consumption, programming versatility, tray layout (of the DC model), and full-aluminum gimbals with hall effect sensors are the primary points of interest for me. The nice cosmetics are a bonus though.

I'm a pincher who recently started using a tray with my DX8 (and really like it) so I'm strongly leaning towards the tray-style DC-16.

I have a bunch of questions into Esprit about the Mezon ESCs and also the Jeti TX itself... we'll see if I end up with one!

The DC-16 looks like an amazing radio for $1k. And, yes, the telemetry from a Mezon would be awesome!
