I've just passed my order anyway for the 700E DFC HV, then I just wondered what was the feedback regarding Align's HV equipment (Servos and 3GX in particular). For the RX, I've taken a R6208SB 2.4Ghz 8V Futaba. Should all this be OK on the long run?

( it's funny all these worries we get when we buy, then months later we just think back "what was all that worrying about again?" )

I haven't heard anything about the HV servos which is a good thing.

The new version of the 3GX is supposed to be ok and better than previous versions but thats just what ive read.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Fine... well I'm very happy with the first version of the 3G, so I guess I'll be thrilled by this latest 3GX! I'm looking forwrads now to receiving my stuff on Saturday!

I have not heard any negative feedback about the HV servos. Considering the fact I have been running the 610's and 650's in a high voltage setup without issues I would say its safe to assume they will run fine. Like anything though, there is bound to be a few bad ones here and there. I wouldn't worry to much though.

As for the 3GX I fly V-Bar and switched from the 3GX so I am not the person to bring good news about the 3GX. It flies ok but the deal breaker for me is the non switchable flight modes. The V-Bar and CGY750 allow you to change all gain settings with the flip of a switch. This is a must if you actually use a "normal" mode to takeoff.

That's interisting. What do you call a "normal mode" when you say "normal mode to takeoff." ? Is this a mode with no electronic stabilisation to prevent to heli tipping over on the ground ?

No, what it means is that everything is dialed down to match the head speed and the fact that I am simply taking off and hovering out to a start point. Gains are lower, roll and flip rates are lower, paddle simulation is turned off, the gyro is also set to be more robotic in my normal mode making more corrections than what it does during my 3D routine. I do this for several reasons but the main reasons is for stability vs agility. Even though I fly 3D I do not like my heli to be squirrelly while I am just trying to hover or take off.

There are also several more features that I change when switching between Normal Mode, IDLE 1 and IDLE 2.

Main Rotor Agility
Main Rotor Stability
Main Rotor Gain
Paddle Simulation
Main Rotor Stop Values
Tail Rotor Pirouette Rate
Tail Rotor Acceleration rate
Tail Rotor iGain
Tail Rotor pGain

This all really comes down to personal feel and preference. I know several people who run the 3GX and argue that they do not need anymore gyro. I for the most part agree, until they get to a point they can actually feel the helicopter at the other end of the stick its a moot point. You can argue until you are blue in the face but you will never get anywhere because they do not "feel" the helicopter. If when you can change the hiller and bell rate on the 3GX you "feel" no difference then I say stick with the 3GX because the other two mentioned gyros will not feel any different.

There are also those who will argue that there is no need for a normal mode because they simply spool up, click it into IDLE 1 and go crazy. Again this is all really personal preference and feel.

Servos should be fine, they are made by Savox, right?
