I just upgraded from a 450 sev2 to a pro FBL with torque tube however this one shuts down usually after about 1 minute of flying. Sometimes it won't spool up and occasionally the batteries last 4 or 5 minutes. It makes no sense. I have a Align 450m motor, align 35x ESC, align 3gx, Align ds410m cyclic and Futaba BLS257 tail servo. When I use the very same batteries on my V2 with same motor and esc, I get the full amount of minutes. I thought the pro's esc was getting hot so I moved it to the outside of the frame. I've also swapped out the esc and motor for identical ones but get the same results. I also tore the whole thing down to make sure no bearings in the frame or tail were bad but all were good. Does anyone know what's happening? Thanks

If you changed the ESC and are getting the same thing, I would guess it has to be the motor or lipo, you said the lipos were used and were ok in other heli's so that only leaves the motor or maybe an electrical connection.

Thanks
I thought about changing the bullets so I'll try that. Thanks for the idea.

is the ESC hot? might be a servo pulling too much current overheating the ESC.

I have been having issues with my 450 pro, though they are different to yours. My heli has a severe lack of power, and the entire power system comes down very hot after the 3 minute flights. Also, my issues are not sporadic like yous seem to be.
Thus far, I have tried it with 3 different motors and a diferent ESC to no avail. The spare ESC that I tried is an old Turnigy, and a little bit questionable in my opinion. I have just received an ICE 50 that I will try. If it doesn't work the ESC is definitely out of tbe question.

Which leaves me to think that if all components in the power system are ok, it must be the things connecting them. I am now suspecting the fake Dean connectors that I have used to replace the TX60s that come on the Turnigy packs. I'm thinking it is possible they might be made of rubbish metal, though it's hard to imagine they could be so bad as to create so much resistance.

Let us know how it works out for you.

450 prob
I've figured out that with mine if I just hover or do normal forward flight, I get the full amount of time. But once I try to do more the battery drops off fast. I still haven't tried changing out my bullets or connections yet.

What is the "C" rating on the battery? If its a low rating, It may be only good for hovering and light flying. When you start to get a little more aggressive, you should get a higher rated lipo.

RotorMaster, try an 11 tooth pinion, sounds like its a gearing problem.

Rotormaster, i had the same issue. I replaced my esc with a ice lite 50. Fixed all my problems. Running a 14t pinion.

Is your flying style different between the v2 and pro? Are you running fixed endpoints on one and gov on the other? My 450 used to die after 2 to 3 mins of flight in idle up using fixed endpoints. I could fly the full 5 to 6 minutes in normal mode. I upgraded to a cc ice 50 lite in gov mode and can beat it to the best of my ability and no problems. I agree with zonnyhad, could be cold solder joints which i doubt it would be on the parts you changed out. Just tryin to throw ideas out there.
