hey all! all stock conditions in the rudder expert menu... Im noticing a kick when transition into idle 1 and 2 (which really doesnt bug me). But more importantly im noticing a kick with fast collective changes like in a continous stationary back flip which induces a left drift of the model also when doing quick elevator tic tocs. I thought a mix would fix the drift but does not so im thinking it's just a rudder issue. gain is about 56 and has no odd tendencies save the above mentioned issue.

Anybody have a good explanation of how the advanced menu of the rudder operates what? Cough Cough.. Dr. Ben???

Little more info. What heli, tail servo, head speed? On my Trex 700 Nitro with a BLS251 servo and 1950 headspeed my tail gain is at 85 and could probably go higher. 56 seems low. I started at 70 and went up from there. It does hold better with more gain.

What does your V curve look like?

If your running your curve with something like 100 50 100 your throttle is dropping off to much and causing the tail to kick when the power comes back on.

curves
Idle 2 is 100 65 100. idle 1 is 85 50 85. 0-100 in norm. I am using the governor at 2k in idle 2. i was under the impression that when governed the unit takes over and disregards your curves to a certain extent to maintain a constant h.s.? mike... What should idle up curves be?

I've always run flat curves, you can put the 750 into Rev Limit mode which seems to work well.

Okay... So increase gain... and bring the mid point up a little or switch to rev mode......

Anything else? Something in the advanced menu to try???

You can isolate pilot induced changes in heading by putting a large amount of negative expo on the rudder and then flying again. If the drifting persists, it's not coming from the yaw axis.

Im a thumb flyer so my neg expo (futaba) on the rudder is -35 already... I thought this might be the issue as well but I bumped it up to -65 and it's still there...

Gonna try moving the curves a bit as mike suggested. If that doesnt work then i'll move the gain... I'll keep you all posted... should have testing time tonight after work...
