Hey there just wondering if anyone out there has experienced a strange roll to right at higher head speed. I have an Align 500 with 500mx and beast x that I bought from a friend. Flew it with his radio and was fine. Bound and set up to my radio flew it about 5 times and all was good. then I tried a new battery and in Idle 2 90 % it rolls to right. I played with throttle curves and it does this any time throttle is above 85% (curve not the stick) untill battery losses some power about 1 1/2 minutes then it flies fine. It did have a noise from motor so I took apart and replaced the bearing (yes they were bad) noise is gone but roll is still there. Other than that cant find anything else wrong with the heli.

Sorry to hear you experinced the same tip over many of us have experienced mostly in the begining when using the stupid stock tape.

This is more common with Nitro powered helicopters.

See this thread:

https://rc.runryder.com/t698651p1/

and watch this video:

Watch at YouTube

It is mostly a chassis resonnance that gets ampplified with the stock tape.
To be clear, is vibration from the heli affecting the BeastX, the stock tape makes it worst.

The simple cure is to use 3M or Scotch gray moulding tape and add a strap over the unit.

If the chassis is experiencing more than normal vibrations is worth taken a look into.

Thanks for that. I had already found that post and probably going to do the glue trick. Problem is heli is fine up to 87% throttle with the 3 m tape which was already installed and heli perfect thru entire throttle range. Replaced twice since this problem started just to make sure still hands off hover until I hit idle 2 which is set at 90 and heli instantly rolls. Flip switch back and stops. This started all of the sudden 2 flights then on 3rd pack of the day it did this.

That tells you clearly is a vibration issue.

Go over the heli, something may be lose or bent, could be a bad or notchy bearing etc.

Ya that's where I've been stuck. Heli had bad main bearings replaced last weekend problem still there. Tore apart today checked every bearing only found slight grinding in motor bearings. Replaced them today. Can't tell if motor shaft bent but noise gone after bearing replacement. Balanced main and tails spot on. Main ,tail, and feathering all straight only thing I can find may be causing vibration is tail drive gear not true. Just don't under stand how this could begin from 1 flight to the next on same day. Nothing changed not even a hard landing.

I'm right there with you, but in my case anything above 70% is a lost cause to fly. I disconnected beastx at that point and all servos. Isolating one thing at a time for almost 2 months now off and on. Been through 3 scorpion motors, 3 torque tubes, a new boom block from i2rc, bearings, shafts, main gears, 2 esc's,...pretty much a new kit. I know it's not beastx or the servos. I'm leaning towards boom struts and a possibly cracked longer tailfin. I have called helidirect, align, and scorpion motors and talked to their best on the shift, no answers...pretty much stumped. Typically, the issue is isolated after a few weeks, but no leads on anything possible yet. This heli was rebuilt from the skids up, and the vibe showed instantly again. Gryo tape and relocating may be a temp fix, but with helis it's telling you to possibly look further.

Thank you all. Just seems odd to have this happen all of the sudden. All sub assemblies rotating silky smooth. No visible vibes on spool up all the way into flight at 87% even at 90 I can hold left to maintain with no visible vibes on heli. On the bench with mains removed I can get a vibe to show at full throttle nothing less but spool up to that point can't feel a thing in chasis. Remove tail blades vibe gone. New tails tried vibe there again possibly because of the load. Not sure. Guess I will just replace everything

You understand that you may still have to balance the t/r, right?

The tail blades may be matched in weight but have a bit different CG. Pull the tail rotor assembly and balance thr whole thing. Check the tail hub while you are at it.

Also be aware that the motor itself may be out of balance. Push it away from the maingear and run it at full speed and see if it is smooth itself.

Sure as heck, there is a wicked high frequency vibe in the model which is annoying the controller.

Thanks for the advice. If its in the motor would vibe go away simply by removing tail blades.

Any new updates? I'm trying a different motor myself and percentages in the radio. Waiting on Align to send me a torque tube that's not wobbly.

ya I found a bad wobble in torque tube too put in 2 more bearings in boom (total of 4) and still had a good vibe in it but much better than before. Also found can on motor rubbing on inside found a video on replacing bearings and shimming to run true got a little more out. Heli still has a vibe but flyable now, well I have 2 flights on it since and will fly more this weekend and see what happens.

That's good you have it flying, but you shouldn't need so many bearings on the torque tube. You might have received a bad set, and if you have spares, check them if they are bent and then send them in to be replaced.

The last 3 align sent me I sent back because the tips were cross threaded and wobbling pretty bad. I wonder if buying an off brand one would be better like from a exi 500 or chaos 500.
