I got a t-rex 500 with belt driven tail , the tail case was removed for shipping - when i installed the tail case to the boom , there is a hole on the right side of the boom , the tail case has nothing that "keys" into this hole , but common sense tells me there should be - to ive tail case proper orientation .,.. can someone confirm my thoughts on this ??

I think on the 450's the boom block had a pin on the left side, and the boom had a slot in it, so the boom can be adjusted forwards or backs wards to adjust tension. The end of the boom with a single hole went into the tail case where the tail blades are. hope that helps.

thanks - i know the slotted go's toward , i need to know if the tail case keys into rear of boom or is it adjusted by eye ? it seem to me like the hold in the end of the boom on right side is for the case to key into but there is no nub/pin on inside of tailcase half to fit that hole ...

Your nub may have broke off not sure. Far as the tail case, the nub, or pin just keeps the tail case from turning on the boom, if no pin in their just drill a tiny hole and put a little screw in there, (Be sure to make your blades vertical first) don't want it running side ways. And make sure it's not to long to hit the belt, or shaft.

If I'm not mistaken, the nub is on the plastic spacer that goes between the tail fin and the case.

thanks guys - i figured there had to be something to keep the tail case from rotating and at the same time setting the proper position at the end of boom ... align in known for there intuitive designs .
