Hi all,

Sorry if this has been posted already. Having a problem with the governor function with the 18mz. I have it programmed with the flight mode switch. The problem is with the radio settings. ie 1000rpm 1500rpm 2000rpm. The output on the screen of the 701 doesn't seem to make sense. What the trick? Thanks

As Ben said, which screen is confusing you? Are you utilizing the SBus? If so, make sure the channels match up between TX and RX.

Thanks guys. No I'm not utilizing the Sbus. Should I and why? What's confusing me is the three different RPM ranges on the 18MZ radio governor menu. ie 1000rpm 1500rpm 2000rpm 2500rpm. Which one should I choose? Thanks

What heli (nitro or electric) and what headspeed do you desire? That will dictate the setting in the TX.

I'm running the 701 in a Hirobo SDX nitro. I'm trying to set Normal=1850 ST1=1950 and ST2=2200.

Is the 701 showing the speed changes when you switch idle ups?

I suspect where your confusion is coming is that you may still have your gov screen on the 18MZ displaying in the % mode. Look right under the battery gauge on the Governor screen. There is a button there; it will either have % or RPM shown in it. If it is currently showing %, touch it and it will change to rpm. You than note the rate column will now show an RPM number that you can change for each of the three rates.

Be sure to calibrate your Gy701 with the transmitter.

Yes the 701 screen is showing the three rates as I flip the FM switch. What's confusing me is when I change a particular rate in the transmitter as I'm lets say increase the rpm range in normal mode it goes up to a point and then goes down. How do I calibrate the 701 to the 18MZ. I think that's my problem. Yes I have changed the % to read rpm.

Thanks for all the help guys. I must me dense. I still can't seem to get the radio rpm's to match the display on the 701. I figured a workaround. I set the radio Normal=0.0% ST1=50% ST2=100% and set my rpm's on the 701 display to read what I want. I don't understand why Futaba has to make things so complicated. I love Futaba equipment but the documentation sucks. They need to get a better technical writer.

Change the rpm box in the 18 to read RPM instead of percentages, then set the rpm you want. Finally match as needed the rpm on the 701 to what you have in the transmitter.
