Damn,you were so on the money again Mark ..Its all setup and working correct after changing it to "nitro with two channels" like you said.How should I have my throttle curves or does it not matter?

If im right,I take off in normal mode then flip the F-mode switch and use the gov switch to change headspeeds right?

Thanks so much man ..

I don't use governor in normal mode as recommended by Mr. Mel. I set my normal curve as 0,45,45,45,45 and then the stunt modes I use a v curve just as a safety but it really doesn't matter its going to run the governor off your selected percentages you have on your gov channel. Glad u got it working. It will get really easy to understand it the more you play with the settingsMark

Mark,
Thats how im setting mine up..If im right,anything below 50% is gov off and above 50% is gov on right?

Normal= 0-45-45-45-45
Idleup1= 100-75-55-75-100
Idleup 2= 100-75-55-75-100

^^Thats how my throttle curves should be right?That was if the gov fails,it falls back on them throttle curves or am I wrong?

Flat curves. The gov is looking for a percentage from the tx (Flat curves). The actual "curve" is in the VBAR program Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

I think I understand what your saying Ron --->When the Vbar sees the curve/stick above 50% the gov is on and its off below 50% right?
I don't want the gov on in normal mode so I can run normal like I posted above and run a flat 100% for idleup 1/2,am I right?

Correct. To get the requested HS you want, simply adjust the throttle curves while the Heli is connected to the VBAR and see what HS shows. Then you get the exact HS you want in idle 1 and 2Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

How does the heli fly in normal mode if the curve stops below 50%. I just done understand this part. Or is normal mode just for spooling up.

Got it set on 2 channel mode with the governor on aux 7. Does everything except the normal mode still ramps up even though the requested head speed is zero.

My normal mode throttle curve is 0-48-48-48-48 and it has a headspeed of around 1650. Flies fine in normal modeMark

So if you are in normal mode, you can never get more than half throttle, so all flying must be done in idle up??

Cheers,
Simon

If you just want to cruise around easy then normal mode will fly around fine, but if you want to do any kind of sport flying or 3D flying then you will switch into idle up modes. My idle up 1 is 1750 and idle up 2 is 2000 on a trex700nMark

Why are you guys not using the gov in the TX to set your head speed?

In gov mode in the TX, set 0 to -50 (to insure you are NOT using gov for normal mode) 1 to around 92ish, and 2 to around 96ish. If you go into the gov tab in the setup function of the V-bar, you can change the values in the tx to determine your head speed for idle 1 and 2.

Once you do that, put in a V-curve (example 100-55-100) for idle 1 and 2 and you are good to go while allowing the gov to maintain your head speed of your choosing.

Thats what i do but some people dont have a dedicated gov channel, so the other option is to use throttle curve for setting the headspeed.Mark

This thread seems to be a mixture of 2 channel mode and combined mode.

In combined mode the governor is always available for when the tx curve is over 50%. Below 50% the governor is off. In combined mode you set a flat throttle curve above 50% just like you do for electric models. There is a settable curve within the v-bar software.

In 2 channel mode you use the governor channel to control head speed. To fly in normal mode (for Futaba users) you inhibit the governor output for normal mode. You set the throttle curve you want to use in the tx. The curves in the v-bar software are inhibited.

I am tinkering at the moment with my first nitro and yet to get 2 channel mode working as I had problems with the model on its first outing.
