A tale of tails, Fixed !!!
Lets get this out of the way right at the start, this heli is a mini protos and without tail blades installed you can touch the tail boom or tail fin with it running at any speed and if you were blind folded you almost can't tell the battery is even pluged in let alone that the heli is running, it's that smooth and vibration free BUT the moment you put ANY set of blades on it the tail starts buzzing vibs thoughout the heli, i've tried dynamicly balancing the blades and i can get it better but it's always still there as you can feel it thoughout the heli and it right there on a skookum data log playback as plain as day and is always right close to 17580 rpm (give or take of corse with throttle pos) it's the damndest thing ! i've changed all the bearing many times and even have ceramic bearings thoughout the tail right now and no change ! AND of corse a few new tail shafts and no change ! i've tried dif belt adj and no change ! it's not having a effect on the gyro but i KNOW that dam spike is there !

oh well.......

Could it be a resonant vibration from the boom supports or tail pushrod?R.I.P. Roman

Thrust bearings in the grips or a screw that's too long?

I've never been convinced you can get a model helicopter 100% vibe free throughout the entire rpm range it is capable of let alone keep it that way. There are too many rotating parts, too many variables. You can spend a lot of time on it just to go fly and get bug guts on the blades or touch the tail to the ground chipping a blade which of course can create vibes, undoing all those hours of work. I have always followed the principal of good enough is good enough when it comes to this sort of thing. If it flies well but I see the fuel dancing in the tank I live with the fuel dancing in the tank. I can see how someone could OCD out on this stuff though...

Because its impossible to have a vibration free helicopter.
Once you add collective the blades will create vibes from the air flowing through the discs.

So... What's the actual problem? FBL controller can't handle the vibrations?

According to the op it isn't affecting his fbl system but the data logger shows a vibe and it is driving him nuts. I would hate to see what a logger would show on my helicopter. Ignorance is bliss in my case, I don't want to know how much I suck at vibe proofing a heli.

I wish you luck on your quest for a perfect, vibration free helicopter. Personally, I've never had one.

This is fairly simple, install the mains and check the vibes. Install only the tail blades and check for vibes. One will most likely be worse than the other. If the vibes are coming from the mains that's a CG issue, most likely chordal but OAW too. If the tail is the source look at lighter blades and check the whole hub and blade assembly on a High Point.

I had an EOLO PRO that when spooling up went through a buzz in the tail. Once through though it was so smooth that it looked like you had it hangin on a wire. To get rid of the buzz through spool up I loosened the tail blade grips to the point that the blades would fold when not spinning. Presto, buzz went away..

Ya the thing that was driving me nuts was how carefully i weighed and matched each piece in the tail rotor assembly from the blades to the smallest 2mm nuts plus even using ceramic bearing throughout the tail assembly and still no joy, but now it's smooth as silk at any rpm AND there's no tape on the blades needed to dynamically balance the rotating assembly !!!     ▲
