blowing the dust off the SR.
I decided to fly my SR today. It flew great on the first battery. But on the second battery when I switched from idle up back to normal mode, the heli started vibrating really bad. But in idle up the vibration is miniscule. The main shaft is new the feathering shaft is new as well. The vibration is not present after you land and tak off again. The blades are balenced. I checked the flybar with a caliper, everything looks good. It has me stumped.

Maybe try new dampers and/or an extra spacer on each side to tighten up the head. Also check your main blade tracking. My little SR is still going ok after +2.5 years. I'm beating the heck out of it right now since I'm getting a new 300x (moocho upgraded SR) next week!

Cheers,

I have new dampers, and five shims a side. The spindle is nice and tight.

OK, if your head is nice and tight it may be too firm for low hs normal mode. Just fly it in idleup until the head loosens a bit, and/or raise the normal throttle curve to increase hs. Also check all your head/swash links for slop (incl. mixer arms).

Cheers,

It flys really well in idle up. I have a zd 720(401 clone) gyro on it. Xtreme production blades. The mixer pot turned all the way down. Tail holds rock solid in idle up.
