60 size heli's
Apparently I have been out of the loop for 60 size helis. I have a JR Vigor Standard with a YS61ST engine that I want to tear down and move the gear to a newer 60 size heli, but I have not found any CURRENT 60 size models. All I find are the 90 size heli's. Are there any 60 size helis out there that are still supported by the vendors?

I want something that will be worth flying and can still get parts for.

Possibly the Bergen Intrepid, you would have to ask. They have great customer service although the design is older and has a high part count. I would just fly the Vigor until you plant it and can't get parts, or better yet wear something out you can't get.

I want to go the 90 route at some point, but I was just trying to save some money and use what I have at the moment. The Vigor does fine, but I was just thinking about upgrading. Been flying 50's so long that I didn't really pay attention to the fact that 60's just kinda disappeared. I was also wanting a 60 airframe for a scale fuselage that I have should I get the momentum to do it.

The only real difference between a 90 helicopter and 60 helicopter is the gearing as the engine ran at a different power band.

So look for a 90 kit that has options for different main gears and pinion gears, that way you will be able to gear it for your engine.

The 60 would still work great and not burn as much fuel. Lets face it not everyone is a 3D rock star (myself included) so we don't need the power of a 90.

The Hirobo Freya is a great flying 60 size machine, and with some minor gearing changes and an engine it can be a 90.
Ive made the changes on one of mine.
Parts are available from a few online sites,Ive never had a problem getting parts, the Freya is a very stable and reliable machine.
You also get Hirobo quality which is great.
