Got to fly today. It flew great, able to run 11 degrees of pitch. The OS 37 works great with no bogging. Autos much better too, I love FBL!

I'm about ready to convert to a FBL on a Raptor 30.

Besides the head, do you have to up grade the swashplate or can you use the stock swash?

Thanks

I bought the new Thunder Tiger FBL head for the .30 V2. I'll be running a OS37 with the Hatori (bobby watts) pipe, Futaba 9351's, and a 251 on the tail with the Cgy750, 550 carbon fiber blades. I upgraded the main gear to the 85 tooth x50 gear and will be adding the auto rotation gear. I'll be running 7.4V's with a regulator and switch glow.

The kit arrives on Monday and and let the games begin.

Looking for an nice bright canopy....anyone know where I can buy one at a reasonable price?

Thanks

I'm wondering why you need fast servos with FBl. That is the whole point of Fbl, faster and more solid response from the heli. If you fly NOBAR you will find out what quicker than quick is without that 3-axis dillywopper. You must have the darn dillywopper maxxed out or not adusted correctly. Those of us that fly NOBAR turn things down, and use expo, and it is still really quick and responsive, and not lightning quick servos. I rest my case.

It's just like your tail servo needs to be fast or it will hunt .

Flew my converted FBL 50V2 NOBAR for a while and it was very smooth and responsive. Keep the headspeed down around 1600, use plenty of expo and low rates. It flies great like this.
I put the CGY750 on it and do not wish to go back. It's really nice to have your cyclic compensate for wind just like the rudder does.
Flying NOBAR is much like flybar except smoother and quicker. You however, must compensate for the wind just like flybar.
Which is better?
NOBAR is simpler.
CGY750 gives me the best of both worlds.
Will convert all my birds to FBL EXCEPT my Titan X50B. It is perfect as is.
I love the smell of nitro in the morning.

For my Raptor 30V2, FBL, OS 37, Futaba 9351's and CGY 750. I'm waiting for a couple of parts and it will be done

The canopy was not clear coated when this pic was taken.

That looks like the Assassin model. I can't find that for the R30/50.
Did you have it made custom? It is gorgeous.

Einzelganger..THANKS

I contacted Fusung canopies and told them I needed a Raptor 30V2 canopy and wanted it done in a bright red. They did the rest.

A week later it was at my door step.
