Why is the SAB Goblin so special?
I had mine for 4 weeks now.I'v been flying since 1993 X-cell kyosho align hirobo and schluter.but the goblin is so different in so many ways.I will list all what I think makes it so special.

-You get a lot more for your money
-one of the BEST LOOKING helis in the market.you will not confuse it with anything else.
-Parts are easy to find in bags and boxes.
-Manuel one of the best I'v used.
-Ease of assembly with no need for modifications
-Parts quality.
-Number of parts a lot less than similar 700 kits.
-Direct servo and swash input to the head.
-Solid tail mechanics with tail servo mounted in the boom.
-Belts on drive train and tail reducing vibration.
-the soul of the heli is confined into the upper plate reducing maintenance time and and reducing bench time.
-Light weight and low profile.
-Fast and very responsive.
-parts price are same or cheaper than comparable or lower quality brands and the lower count of parts will offset or even saves you money if you are worried about the price of the boom and canopy.

the question is would you do it again and buy another goblin?

So If you have anymore points to add please do so.
thanks for reading a long post.

Firemedic, you named many of the features that make the Goblin such a special heli, but for me the two keys traits which makes the Goblin stand out are its looks and performance. Nothing else looks like the Gobby. When I bring my Goblin to the field it gets noticed. Can't say the same for my T-Rex700.

Today I took my Logo 600 and Goblin out for a few flights each. After I packed everything up and had a big smile on my face, It occurred to me that the two helis are actually very similar in their performance, but they each get there in different ways. The Logo uses finesse and very light weight, while the Goblin uses brute force.

I can't say yet which on these to helis I like best. They are both excellent. However, I can remember when the Logo was unique at any RC field or event. Now they are common. I think the same may be in store for the Goblin. This is sure to be exacerbated by the various size Goblins (630, 700 and 770) when they are all available. Enjoy the uniqueness of the Goblin 700 while it lasts.

Nice write up firemedic.

I love mine for a lot of the reasons you have listed.

I have a few gripes about it, but the likes far out weigh them

Definatley one of the "game changer" helis.

Sorry to butt in Guys, but LOL
Good points made about one piece servo housing.
But is this a twisted joke when you added;
-one of the BEST LOOKING helis in the market.you will not confuse it with anything else.
22 Mebebers of my flying club unanimously agree it is the ugliest heli. Only a Mother could could love something so confused and FuGly, oh yeah the FuGlin.Oh wate it is Italian, it can not be ugly right?
Number of parts a lot less than similar 700 kits.
That thing has less parts than a regular 700?
Certainly not the drivetrain. Where does this kind of convoluted thinking comes from?
You get a lot more for your money
You get a lot of drivetrain parts for your money, that for sure!

Please just say it is a unique heli and leave it at that.
Belts on drive train and tail reducing vibration.
First belt was the problem for heli vibration problems, so we most switched to TT, now its back to belt, I can not stand this reverse up craziness ahhhhh!

I don't have a Goblin - but I saw & heard one at the last funfly.

I really like the sound of it - somehow it sounds different to other helicopters.

Kind of a "deep brutal" sound .

22 members of your club are either blind, tasteless, or just flat jealous.

the Goblin is the sexiest sleekest heli in the sky..
everywhere we go with them we attract a crowd and pictures..

and yes it does have a VERY low part count.
much lower than many other helis out there due to the design.

All I hear is nothing but jealous sour grapes all the time from Funboy.. why don't you go troll the Align forums instead.

Its my point of view no more or less.some will look at painting and will say what the heck is that?and the next person well pay millions for it.
same thing here.so far I am happy with my decision and I will consider buying another one in the future.at the end of the day each one of us will fly what they like regardless of what others think about it.

I've never had issues with looks but then looks on helis well almost all can grow on you. Originally I hated my TDR look but now I like it and so on. SAB did something risky but very different to so that can be applauded as well. While I don't feel it's best heli on market it certainly is better then alot of crap out there that others rage about....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

what I am saying is you will not take this heli out of your truck and someone will ask is an align or x-cell it sure stands out.

when you buy this kit you will find that you dont have to make a list of items you need to upgrade it to make fly the way you want.

with all do respect if you like burger king why are you standing in a McDonald line bashing the food.

Funguy, I think your club has 22 jealous members. Everyone that sees my Goblin thinks it looks awesome. Let's face it, the standard old pod and boom look is a bit dated.
