New type of Velcro for battery?
Could this new technology hanging strips replace our traditional velcro products holding our battery? Advertised 9 lb holding force, we took a closer look at 3M Command hanging strip.

Cheers.

This is not new. This type of 'velcro' has been around for years. Mostly used in industrial assembly lines for holding tooling and equipment to benches so they don't slide around (my exp).

I wouldn't use it in RC. Large batteries (6S) would still need a wrap around strap and small batteries would be a PITA to remove.
My crashes are cooler than your flying! ;^)

I have used something similar and it is not a good choice for our needs.

This product is a packaging of low-strength DualLock.

DualLock is one of my favorite products. They sell two colors/strengths at Radio Shack under the name SuperLock (but the strips say DualLock on the backing).

I use it to secure all my electronics (rx/sats, vbar control unit, esc, bec, ...) and have had zero issues there (other than that at times the material holds stronger than its adhesive backing).

I use it to hold batteries onto my 130X and it's fine for that.

Using it for full-sized packs would be kinda scary, because you'd have to find the zone between too much (very hard to remove) and too little (battery goes WHEEEE!).

I have other uses around the house and office for the stuff. Playing with it is also a great stress relief. Cures what ails ya.
oops, bounced it!

Yea! That is where I went wrong with the stuff. Used it on my two 6s packs that had to partially slide in and out, it was no fun to say the least.
