V-Bar Error
Yesterday I was flying my new Avant Aurora with the RidgidCore flybarless head, Futaba BLS451 cyclic servos, JR DS8900G tail servo, 690mm Edge SE FBL blades

The first flight of the day was great, the second flight about half way through I felt a small aileron twitch to the left. As I was coming around to hover in front of me I felt it again. So I landed and took a look at the flight log.

Error 76- Aileron Sensor Value out of Range. Flight log is attached page 17-21 is the flight (Sorry I don't know how to get individual flights saved)

I also noticed after the flight my muffler had come loose also, maybe this was the cause? Or is my V-bar sensor bad? I have only had it for about 3 months.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Can't see the log but a loose muffler certainly could explain a sensor out of range error.Team POP Secret

Here is my take on it. Vbar does not like vibration. If you have a vibration in the airframe bad enough to loosen the muffler bolts, you probably saw the effect of that in the sensor. Unless you crashed it, I doubt if the sensor is bad. My 2 cents worth. In the log, do you see extreme vibration entries? I can't view the log at work.Formerly SunFunFlyer.

I used Welders glue to make sure there are no loose connections.

Yes there are Extreme Vibration levels along with High Vibration. It popped the muffler off one of the O-rings, maybe that was the vibration?

For those who can't view it.

4:29 Extreme Vibration
Level
Vibrations are extreme. That means, that the measurement signal is much lower than the signal level
of the vibrations. No usable flying is possible with this level. Everything has to be checked and
extended tests are needed to isolate and eliminate the source of vibrations
4:33 Antenna Switched
The Signal from one of the sattelites was missing. The Main reciver is switched over to the other
connector. In Case of a single reciver connected, one frame was lost.
4:36 Aileron Sensor Value
out of Range
The Sensor delivers Values that are not trustful. Rotational rates, that will create this values are
usually not possible in air. The Sensor may be defective. This can happen in certain cases if the heli is
handleled on ground, or on very hard landings or very extreme Vibrations.
4:38 High Vibration Level
The control loop suffers from a high vibration level, that starts to render the sensors blind. Save flying
is possible, but the stability will be degraded. Additinally slow drifts that happen may be caused by
vibrations.
4:44 Antenna Switched
The Signal from one of the sattelites was missing. The Main reciver is switched over to the other
connector. In Case of a single reciver connected, one frame was lost.
4:48 Raised Vibration Level
There was detected a raised level of Vibration. Since the vibration detector has to decide which signal
is vibration and chis is the intended measurement signal, this can happen sometimes on hard 3d
moves. It shall not happen all the time. If this error is reported repedidtly very often, check the heli for
vibration sources.
4:53 Aileron Sensor Value
out of Range
The Sensor delivers Values that are not trustful. Rotational rates, that will create this values are
usually not possible in air. The Sensor may be defective. This can happen in certain cases if the heli is
handleled on ground, or on very hard landings or very extreme Vibrations.

Yup, I'd troubleshoot that vibration issue. I don't know anything about Avant, but if you can dial indicate and balance all of the spinning parts, you'll probably fix it.Formerly SunFunFlyer.

I did dial indicate the fan it was under 0.001.

Could the vibrations be from the engine running to rich?

Considering it dropped about 10 degrees from the first time I flew it to the second time I flew it.

The log shows very minimal vibrations on the first flight.

Yes but one or two extreme vibration warnings is not bad unlesss you are hovering the whole time. Those can show up in normal flights where extreme direction changes happen.Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

Well its getting progressively worse, now it will happen as soon as I take off. It will twitch hard to the left.

I'm afraid to fly it until I get this figured out.
