E Conversion for NOTAR mechs
I wanted unviel a new product coming out soon....

SMI's new prorotype e-conversion for Vario's NOTAR mechs (copyright and patents pending)

Once arrangements have been made with RR advertising and pricing will be provided. Until then feel free to contact me via PM.

This has been a long time coming and I'm happy to finally be able to show it. A big thanks to Viaga5 and Nick T from the scale sight for thier input and help. I and another member will be flight testing these and reporting our findings. There are also two other set of mechs for a different heli that are being built and tested. Details on those to come soon.

That's looking good Chris, can't wait to see her fly! I can personally vouch for the quality of Chris's prototype parts. I'm building another set of custom E-benzin, direct to swash frames that he designed and the fit/finish machine work is great. I'll be posting the build soon...stay tuned

Thanks guys.

As a side note, brought to my attention by Sandy, one of the photos is showing a 22 tooth and 20 tooth pulley. I used that for initial running and had done my math backwards The plus side of that mistake is I ran the set up at higher speed then it would be ran under normal use and it held up problem free The flying set up uses two 20 tooth pulleys unless a customer request a different set.

Short video of my first spool up of the mechs and experience with e-power. I hadn't recieved my Castle Link yet so the ESC was only stick programmed.....hence the quick start of the motor. It's now set for a very soft start

Watch at YouTube

I'll do a better video later but thought I'd share this one.

Ohhh yes, for sure will do!

Got it off the ground today. The tail control was great. I had the head speed at 1230 and the fan speed at 14268. For actual flying vs hovering I'll be at 1350 on the head and 15660 on the fan.

I have a new in the box 520N that I was going to electrify. I was going to use a Shubeler DF to power the tail, but this looks good. I will wait now to see how this works.

Awesome Chris!! Glad to hear your maiden went well and the tail holds. Do you plan to run a flat throttle curve in idle up?
