New Logo owner!
Wassup guys! So today I am ordering the Mikado LOGO 600 Bundle Kit from RH.

The combo comes with the Mini VBAR, HK4035-500 and Edge Blades. This is a 10S setup. With this motor, however, it seems like the kv is more than suitable for a 12S setup. I suppose it would require getting a different pinion to run on 12S? I am by know means a hard 3D flyer so I'm thinking 10S is more than adequate for me

I have only owned Align helis in the past as well as only Beastx. I still love my 700e and Beast but I really want to try something new.

The Mini-V will of course be completely new to me so I'm hoping I won't have too much trouble with the setup. It appears there is quite a bit of support here on RR and HF.

12s is great. If you don't need the power, you can always use the efficiency. Just swap the pinion and roll. What ESC are you going to use? VBAR gov?Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

The Logo 600 is a designed 10S heli, and although some guys use 12S on it, they often then need a smaller pinion (depending of course on motor kv), which increases the chances of gear strips.

The heli has won or placed in the top three in numerous world class competitions over the past few years flown by Mikado Team pilots, all using 10S set-ups. Trust me, 10S is good enough

If as you said, you're not a hard 3D flyer, then the 500kv motor on 10S works great. The standard set-up for Team pilots with the Logo 600 is a 560kv motor using a 12 tooth pinion on 10S, running in the 2200 head speed range. So if you want to run a slightly lower head speed and get longer flights (you don't need 2200+ on the Logo 600 for sterling 3D performance anyways), then the 500kv motor is fine. And pinions go up to 15 tooth, so even if you want to keep the head speed on the higher side, you can go up in pinion size to get it (reduces the chances of gear strips as a side benefit).

Welcome to Mikado land (-:

Hey thanks so much for the replies guys. I wanna use the V-Bar governor for sure. I have an ICE2 80HV I'd like to use.

The learning curve may be a bit taller for me since I'm so used to the Beastx so I'm glad there's a place to ask questions

+1 on everything dave said regarding 10s. the thing is unstoppable at 2200 on 10s 12-13t.

regarding the 80HV (or any castle for that matter) make sure you pick up the hobbywing phase sensor for use with the vbar gov. the hyperion will NOT work with the v5 firmware, and the v4 firmware on a hyperion sensor yields some funky parameters in the vbar---though it does work.

enjoy your (brief) build.

Just curious, do I only need the phase sensor if I use the Castle ESC?

I'm used to just using the Castle governor so using a phase sensor of any kind is new to me

Yes you will need a phase sensor. As for 10-12s, I ran 10s and everything was 20-30 degrees hotter after a flight and my 12s 3300packs cost less as the c rating did not have to be as high. Just a thought.Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

FYI phase sensor is not a big deal. just solder the lead to one of the gold bullets of the ESC; plug the other end in to the appropriate vbar port. following mr mel's instructional video you'll be up in no time.

phase sensor is required because--unlike the ESC which controls the motor--the vbar has no way to know how fast the motor is spinning, unless you tell it, hence the phase sensor. it really is a plug and play affair.
if it ain't broke, break it.

Ok thanks cudaboy!

Gonna be weird for me not using Castle's governor. I have been using it exclusively since I started flying

I've heard the V-Bar governor is insanely good though so I'm really looking forward to using it.

4400-4500 is the "sweet spot" with the Logo 600 for weight and flight time. Note that 10S 5000 will make the heli slightly nose heavy, requiring some weight on the tail to get exact CG.

I'm getting my kit this week. Can't wait to start assembling her

Hopefully someone who is good at setting up the Mini-V can meet me at the Apollo field in Van Nuys to help me set her up.

As stated, you will enjoy the flight characteristics of the 600. But where you will really appreciate the heli is in the long run with low maintenance. I too came from an align background. My 600 ESP was upgraded from 6S to 12S, from flybar to FBL all in attempts to improve performance (pics in gallary). It started stripping TT gears during 4 point tic tocs, causing me to lose the tail and forced autos that caused crashes, so I went to a belt. The Align belt system was inefficient and when I flew sideways to the helis left to go up into death spirals, it would bogg and lose power, tail wouldn't hold. Anyway, going to a low maintenance, high performance heli helped my skill and flying enjoyment tremendously.High Voltage just works better

The only belt heli I've ever owned is a 450 Sport. All others were TT.

Oh and the big brown truck just showed up
