Helis keeping you young?
I am 36 years old, but when I fly I feel like a kid again.

Does flying RC helis keep you feeling young at heart?

It has to be a person whom is involved in this hobby that can only describe how we feel or the rush we get when we successfully complete a maneuver.
For me , when I'm flying , I have nothing on my mind, no every day life issues if you know what I mean.
Its just me my heli's and planes.

My brother-in-law rides his motorcycle to Miami everyday for work. He said he loves it because all he thinks about is the road. If he loses focus, he would crash.

When I fly, I don't think about anything else or I will crash.

I turned 60 last month.
I'm in the same boat as Mr Dan. while flying my mind is clear of all of life's issues, work, etc...

I also really enjoy just watching others fly and having a good time. The joy I found with RC helis has never faded.

I am sometimes wondering about myself how I behave when it comes to this hobby. As a kid I always wanted a RC plane or a helicopter but my parents didnt bought me one neither was my christmas wish list ever fullfilled when I wrote helicopter on it. So maybe it is something psycologically a flashback of my youth. And as soon as I approach the flying field the time machine brings me 30 years back...

In my heart I am 14 again. Flipping through magazines, tallying a wish list and looking forward to a day at the field. Wish I still lived with Mom and Dad, I'd have alot of cash for this hobby if that was the case. LOL
I am sharing this hobby with my sons who are 7 and 10 and they are getting what I wish I had as a kid. I mean at 10yrs old could you imagine holding an 8FG and hovering a Whiplash? My 10yr old has.
It brings my sons and I together and I'm not so sure it doesn't bring my down to there level. LOL
